1988 MJ LWB Part Out in SW MO/Springfield

Recommended Posts

I’m currently parting out an 1988 MJ long bed. It is a 4.0 5 speed 2WD. It is rust free-spent all its life in Texas and Oklahoma. It has factory bucket seats, full console, good bed, topper just to name a few of the things it’s optioned with. It sadly was hit very hard on the passenger side and bent the whole cab. Please send me a message if you’re interested in any parts and I’ll let you know if I have them.

Prices on larger items:

Bed-$250

Seats-$150
Thank you!

I actually bought it already wrecked, but yes the older gentleman and his wife who were in the MJ at the time of the accident survived with no issues. You can see my personal MJ in the background. It’s a red 88 Eliminator. 4.0 5 speed fully loaded-I’ll never let it go!

Unibodies and T-bones don't fair well. Even on a frame table it  probably still wouldn't be straight within factory specs.

No they don’t. I don’t even try to repair them anymore if they have damage on the unibody. No matter how much work you do to fix them they just never are the same. This MJ got hit so hard that there is a crease going all the way up to the roof!

Yup that's sweet, don't sell that or you will regret it. Are you going to put the factory decals back on?

The only way my MJ will leave the family is if I pass on and my wife or son doesn’t want it. It’s the most optioned MJ I’ve ever ran across: 4.0 5 speed 231 factory AC, bucket seats, full console, full gauges, dash clock, AM FM cassette radio, courtesy lights, fog lights, cargo light, carpeted rear interior panel, power windows and locks, leather wrapped steering wheel, tilt steering wheel, floor carpet, intermit wipers, sliding rear window, Underhood light, factory rear bumper and tow hitch. I’m keeping it mostly stock. The only mods I’ve done are replaced the clutch fan with another electric fan, converted to the HO open cooling system, locked the CAD in the D30 and installed a rear view mirror with built in compass and outside temp readout from an 02 Chevy Silverado. I’m thinking of installing power mirrors and an FM modulated 6 disc CD changer that I have as a spare for my 5.9 ZJ into it as well.

I’ll add the Eliminator decals back onto it, but I think I’ll leave the 4x4 badges and white pinstripes that run along the bottom off as I don’t like the look of them.

How is the back interior panel below the window? This is a grey interior, correct? Not the light blue?

It is in good condition-no cracks or rips. Yes, it has the grey colored interior.

Do you mean the rubber strip pieces? I may be interested in them if you take them off.

No-I was talking about the white pinstripes that run up on top on the rubber chrome strip pieces like on the MJ in the attached picture. I’m going to keep the rubber pieces on it. I’m actually needing the rubber with chrome in the middle piece for my drivers door as the PO melted a section of it when he dropped his torch while trying to unfreeze the door lock and the flame melted it.

Do the seats come with the brackets? if so I'm in for them.

Scratch that, the idea of the purchase did not pass the better half :dunno:, apparently I need to get rid of some of my other vehicles before stockpiling more parts for the Comanche.

No worries! The seats with the brackets have been sold already. Thank you for checking though!

Are both seat belts in working order or destroyed? Are they grey or black? And price if in good shape?

Is the header panel by chance any good?

The one off of this MJ has been sold, but I do have two other good header panels. One is red and is off of an 86 MJ. The other is burgundy/blackish colored and is off of an 89 MJ. Please send me a PM if you're interested. I'll be in Carthage this Saturday and could meet you someplace with one.

Thank you!

Both seat belts off of this MJ have been sold. I do have one good grey drivers side seat belt off a 90 MJ though that I can do $50 shipped on. I also have a complete set of red MJ seat belts as well off a 86. Please PM me if interested. Thank you!

I’m looking to get an entire grey interior. Dash, door trim, center console, steering column possibly, and seats. How much of that do you have left? I’m in Kansas so I can drive to pick it up.

This MJ is stripped clean and the carcass will be hauled off soon. I have lots of other MJ and XJ parts, so please message me if you’re looking for something. I might just have it!

Thank you!
