It was all black though. Your's may have fallen by the wayside over the years..... My longbed was a Pioneer, including the hockey stick stripes on the side. All the badges were there (Pioneer, 4x4, 4.0 Litre), but no body side molding, nor do I think it ever had any. Then again, my Pioneer was somewhat of an oddball (like all gauges instead of dummy lights).

This is exactly what I think any time I see a white vehicle. Blech. Boring fleet spec blandness. Mostly why my daily driver still looks like this: Back on topic, my '91 pioneer has the molding as discussed, with the chrome. Whether it's original or not is hard to say... Whoever redid the rockers (horribly I might add... they literally fell out) and resprayed the truck (also falling off...) didn't put them back on quite right. Looks like the chunks behind the doors when on either upside down or on the wrong side, or was cut horribly crooked, because they don't match the door seam or the back of the cab. Definitely don't do that. In terms of looks I think I'd be okay without it, but having a little bit of protection against rogue shopping carts or something isn't a bad thing. It's not really high enough for door dings though.
GrayWolf
Paint is coming soon, and I've been torn about trim. I picked up enough nice Cherokee Laredo trim at P N' P to do my SB, but haven't decided yet what I want to do. Some days I like the "clean look", then the next day I want to break it up. I guess drive it for awhile without, and if I change my mind, put the trim on.
jeeppapa
That’s the ticket, no rush on that. I like trim myself. I like the contrast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PCO6
HOrnbrod provided me with a link to this via another thread (thanks Don) and I've found it quite helpful. My MJ is complete and has a silver strip ... which I like. My 2 dr. XJ is a Limited. It is white and originally came with gold accents on EVERYTHING ... which I hate. The previous owner stripped all of the gold off which is exactly what I would have done. All that is left is hints of gold on the rocker cover and I'll be taking care of that soon. I'll also be adding silver badges (the gold ones were taken off). The moldings on my XJ are all black. There are small specks of gold on them so I'm sure they are the originals. The rear pieces on both sides are missing though. I have a complete set of black with red stripe moldings. Strictly a personal preference but I'd like to go with silver. I've been looking but silver stripe molding for a 2 dr. XJ seems hard to find. This thread gives me some hope that I may be able to change the colour. Quick story about XJ Limiteds ... I bought a new XJ 4 dr. in 1990. I opted for the Laredo and told the salesman that I did so because I thought the Limited looked like a "pimpmobile" with all that gold. He laughed and gave me the impression that I wasn't the first one to tell him that. I agree ... XJ's need moldings. Mine are all black and hopefully soon to be black with silver. MJ's need them too. I'm NOT trying to match the two but I do like the silver on my MJ.
