NC Tom
So, I bought a new header panel and it has no Jeep logo. My original logo is all jacked-up. So, I popped on eBay and bought some logos. BUT, the factory logos are curved (because the header panel is curved) but the aftermarket logos are flat! Anyone dealt with this before and have a solution? Skorpyo
Best bet is to hit a local junkyard. Most will only charge you a few bucks for them if that. Just use 3M adhesive like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BO9L00/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1RFUSU5QPFCHI&colid=7UJCWCYYTYUC
Minuit
Can the aftermarket not even get that right? Here are some delicious Chrysler part numbers for your enjoyment: On 1/27/91 they changed from mounting with nuts to being glued taped on. Here's the part numbers for the older ones. I think the header panels all have the holes for the studs anyway? J is 55010901 e is 55010902 p is 55010903 The full set in chrome is 55294922. HOrnbrod
Yep. Up to build date 1/27/91 used the studded individual letters for the front clip. I've often been curious if the later Jeep set (55295250 is also a valid p/n for the silver letters) stick-ons could be used as a replacement for the four studded letters. Anyone try? I found the same thing looking for wheel centers for a set of factory alloy rims for the 2000 Cherokee. Amazon and eBay had lots of people selling them, and claiming they were OEM Chrysler, citing part numbers, yada, yada ... and it was obvious from the photos they weren't a match for the factory centers. schardein
Here is my collection. As for replacing the pin type with the stick on type, the hole for the longer mounting stud (there is a longer and shorter on each letter) on the e will come very close to showing if replaced with a stick on one, because the stick on ones are "open" in the e. The longer mounting stud for the p is right smack in the middle of the "open" part and the mounting hole would definitely show. Also, since the stick on ones are open, the paint will show through, so if it has aged differently (or not aged, as the case may be), that may be a consideration too. I know this isn't the classifieds, but these are for sale. $18 per set. Pin set does not include nuts (did they have nuts?), all will need old tape scraped off and new tape (like Skorpyo listed above) put on.
carnuck
I've seen a few modded ones that read beer instead of Jeep. It must have taken some time to shave the P and make it into a bSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jeep690
Take a heat gun and gently bend them in to shape. That may help out
Kerry
I used a stick on one from a Wagoneer (XJ). They are smaller and cleaner looking in my opinion and you see NOS ones on Ebay fairly often. My header panel is aftermarket without the holes. NC Tom
I too was wondering about using a heat gun. Hmmmm.

I don't think a heat gun would have any effect on the originals as they seem pretty sturdy. It might on the aftermarket ones, if they are made from a different/much thinner material.
