Relay cover tab replacements?

Recommended Posts

I've looked at every Jeep at Pull-A-Parts in Birmingham and Montgomery every time I've been there and never seen any of those.  Have not seen a pre-1990 XJ in any of the yards around here in more than a year.  I've only seen 2 MJs in the local yard in the past 4 years.  We're running out of parts cars!

Yes we are.

I've been beating this drum for some time now.

Knox PnP has had NO 97+ XJ for weeks now........none........and they have always had at least a dozen any time I've been there over the last 6 years.

I have a couple $5 shipped, pm if interested.

Awesome, PM on it's way shortly.

Thanks everyone, it definitely is getting tougher to find parts in the JY, unless you're working on a 97+ conversion, haha.

This may be slightly off topic, but-

I used to own a 1989 XJ Wagoneer, black w/woodgrain.  I wish I'd kept it, but that's a different story.  This was back when I was new to XJs.  It started dying, I couldn't figure it out, so took it to the dealer.  Of course it was the CPS.  They replaced it quickly, wasn't to expensive, I'm feeling happy as I pick it up.  Before I drove off, something told me to just take a look under the hood.  Pop it up, and instantly notice my relay cover is missing.  I went in and complained.  There was a glass window behind the cashier's desk that looked into the shop.  I watched the manager go over and start talking to the mechanic, couple hand gestures, then the mech goes over to the trash can, REACHES IN and pulls out my relay cover.  This would have been about 1998, and was the last time I've taken a car to the dealer.

Ten bucks says that mechanic had an '87 XJ that was missing the relay cover.

I used front air dam retainers listed for 03-07 Grand Cherokees. The Mopar part # is 5159132AA and they go for about one dollar each. They are a little larger than the original but they do fit, just a little tight. Wrong color too but I can live with that.
