Quick bench seat removal possible?

I've read the posts about removing the bench, rails/sliders and all. However, can I just remove the seat and leave the sliders in? Just I can get under the dash easier? I can't seem too find that option, but it must be possible.

Nope.  Take the whole thing out.  The rest of it is riveted together.

It's only eight nuts and the two seat belt bolts. With the proper tools, 10-15 minutes to take it out.

The seat does unbolt from the sliders 13mm nuts , but you'll have to unbolt the seatbelts and unplug the drivers seatbelt

I recently replaced my bench with a bench from a 4x4. It took me all together about an hour.

Really?  Hmm.  I don't think mine did...  That was a long time ago though.

IMHO it's far easier to just remove the entire seat with the brackets than to try fumbling around underneath to remove the seat from the brackets.

Only if someone changed the seat mount.  I have not seen one that was put together with bolts from the factory and I've taken out/replaced 20 or so seats.  The brackets are attached to the sliders with rivets...and to the OP, be careful, slow and steady taking out the nuts, as they get corroded and rusty and are relatively small (break easy).

The brackets ARE riveted to the sliders as you have underlined and you are perfectly correct with that statement . But the OPs question was "can you unbolt the sliders from the seat frame ? Which indeed you can , I will take pictures to prove it ... if I have to.

Appreciate the replies. However, what I was really wondering is, can you just slide the seat off the rails? Like in older VWs. where you can just hold the under-seat adjuster and slide the whole seat off and out of the car. I was thinking that the age and simplicity of the bench seat may let it happen. I couldn't find a lever that would release the seat. Looks like the replies here suggest it's not so easy.
