Door window visors

I just scored a set of metal visors for my door windows. I think they're OEM? I paid 20 shipped for them so I think I got a good deal. How rare are they? And how do they mount? I haven't received them. They're shipping tomorrow. Just wanting to get everything together to install when they get here! :D

I've got three pair of the metal visors / rain guards , some were mopar and some were the ventshade brand . I wouldn't call them rare , but they don't show up often . They are held up with three clips on each side that go in between the window seal and door frame .

thanks! Are these clips still available? The guy I bought them from said no hardware was included so I'm not sure if they have the clips.

I never had to search for the clips , mine were all complete . Hornbrod may know as I know he has a pair of mopar ones .

I have a set of clips around somewhere - don't know if they are Mopar or aftermarket. I think I remember though that they didn't work with the factory Mopar visors.

That is good timing. I'll know what brand they are when they come in. They shipped yesterday. I'll figure out some way to mount them :D

Finally got the visors. They look good, just need paint. No clips though. How do the clips fit on? I'm going to rig them probably once I figure out how the stock clips worked. Theres no markings for manufacturer on them.

I doubt if you can rig these w/o clips. The clips are one or the other below depending on your visor type. My visors use the black clips on the right. You install them by rolling down the window, pulling the glass weather strip down from the top a couple of inches, then pushing the flat part up into the metal channel with the prongs facing down and on the outside. It takes three clips for each door. Then push the weather strip back up and roll the window up tight to press them the clips in tight. The visors have a channel on one side that the prongs clip onto, holding it in place. It's a bear sometimes to get all three clips clipped in, but once in the visor is firm. I have about eight of the shiny clips you can try - hopefully they will work on your visors. PM me your address if you want them. I only have three of the black ones left and need to keep them for spares.

the only markings I've found on them is G59-RF and LF which leads me to believe they're from a Cherokee. I PM'd you, though!

It's a bit blurry , but it looks like they're installed wrong .

 

It's supposed to rain , but if it doesn't maybe I'll take some pics of how they should be ..

The Mopar shades were made by Vent-Shade. They were the same exact product.

Sorry it's taken me a little bit to post back, been busy working on my Contour and doing yard work for my ma lately so the Jeep is having to wait more.

 

This is with the clip mounted the other way in the window, the clip is a little blurry cause the sun was shining and I couldn't tell if the phone was focused or not.

 

The "prongs" on the clip don't fit too tightly on the visor when I install them like Hornbrods picture shows. But I think with some work I can make this work great.

You can get them aftermarket still, but only for the XJ.

does anyone know if the long L shaped pieces that fit the full piece windows work with a vented window? says 84-01 cherokee but picture shows one with a full window. as in an xj after 96

No there’s actual metal ones that just cover the window for the older doors. I’ll get a part number for ya in the morn.

Vent Shade made all of Jeeps stainless shades. My nos Jeep shades from the 60's where Vent Shade brand. I put some NOS ones in my 2 door XJ. I'll snap a pic of them installed and the instructions in a bit.
