Xdt Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Hello, Does anyone know where to purchase the front under panel for a MJ?. I do not do any serious off-roading however just want to protect the alternator and keep debis from entering engine bay. Thank
gogmorgo Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 What under panel? There was a factory skid plate that "protected" the steering components (it's pretty thin) and that could also keep some stuff from splashing up into the engine bay, but I think that's about it. You might luck out and spot one under the front of an XJ.
Xdt Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Ok the factory skid plate is what I am looking. I will look for an XJ in salvage yards. Just thought there was a manufacture that made a replacement.
HOrnbrod Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I guess he means the engine splash shield. The 97 and up XJ OEM units work great for our trucks and are plug and play. All the push pin fastener holes line up.

Xdt Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Hornbrod Thanks for the info, I will start a google search for an engine splash shield for XJs
Xdt Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Just placed order, thanks guys for your help.
HOrnbrod Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Hornbrod Thanks for the info, I will start a google search for an engine splash shield for XJs Welcome. It does a decent job keeping the alt and the engine dry and semi-mung free.
gogmorgo Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Mm. I actually know very little about the '97+ XJ's. It's probably obvious sometimes.
Minuit Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Mm. I actually know very little about the '97+ XJ's. It's probably obvious sometimes. Almost all of them were ripped off at some point and never put back on. Mostly because the early model ones at least get soggy and torn up and are a real PITA to deal with if you have to do anything on the bottom of the engine. Apparently the 97+ ones are made out of a different material, but I don't know if I've ever seen one of those.
Xdt Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 I found the OEM as described above for a Cherokee for $65 on eBay.
