  1. All, Thank you for the replies, it appears that I will have a full weekend. I will inspect all components as mentioned and let you guys know what I find. Once again it's time to convince the wife that I am saving us money by Investing money in the Jeep. Stay tuned.....
  2. I have replaced both upper and lower control arms with moog replacements. However, I will inspect. Sometimes new parts can be defective. I have not replaced calipers or ball joints. So before I throw more money at the problem, I will inspect hubs and control arms. Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks again
  3. I forgot to mention the Rear brake shoes and drums have been replaced. I will investigate the hubs, thanks for the replies.
  4. Guys, I have an 87 4.0 5 speed 4wd. When I apply brakes the front right side of the truck vibrates. I replaced the rotors and pads and problem remains. There are times while braking at speeds above 50mph I can feel vibration in the shifter. However the steering wheel feels fine. I took the truck to NTB for an evaluation but they could not find root cause. It appears that the problem could be in the drive train but I am not sure. Please provide suggestion if you have experienced similar problems. Thank you
  5. Eagle, Thanks for the reply. I will go by Safelite for a quote.
  6. Guys, I found a puddle of water at the rear of tha cab. Removed plastic trim poured water around where the outer glass mounding touches the outside cab and splashed water onto the face of the glass itself (to check the small out there weatherstripping that appears to keep glass in place. Basically water leaks at the molding and weatherstripping. My questions are: 1) since my glass is in great shape does anyone sell a gasket/weatherstripping kit? 2) If no one sells a kit has anyone used a glass shop to remove/ reuse sliding glass, replace stripping, gaskets/ molding? 3) Is it best to buy aftermarket glass which has the gasket and stripping for shop to install. Thank you
  7. I found the OEM as described above for a Cherokee for $65 on eBay.
  8. Just placed order, thanks guys for your help.
  9. Hornbrod Thanks for the info, I will start a google search for an engine splash shield for XJs
  10. Ok the factory skid plate is what I am looking. I will look for an XJ in salvage yards. Just thought there was a manufacture that made a replacement.
  11. Hello, Does anyone know where to purchase the front under panel for a MJ?. I do not do any serious off-roading however just want to protect the alternator and keep debis from entering engine bay. Thank
  12. Guys, the filter in question goes inside of an opening on the top of the transmission. Once I removed the center console the opening is to the right of the gear shifter. Thanks again for the help.
  13. Guys Thank you for the replies. As stated one of the hoses connect to the transmission. The hose in the link has a filter attached. Does this filter just vent to air? The hose isn't long enough to reach transfer case. The hose is 3/8 Thanks again
  14. Hello, Currently replacing clutch slave cylinder and notice two vent lines. One of the lines attach to the rear of the transmission please identify the second hose/filter and where to connect. Thank you

    Relay Cover

Looking for a under hood relay cover for 87 4.0 4wd.
  16. Guys, Thank you for the help, I have a new Horn cancel cam (missing) and ground wire (did not have spring) on order. Hopefully this will work
  17. Thank you guys for the replies. Jimoshel the recessed hole you referenced (6 o'clock position) is the screw hole for the turn switch. Please explain how the ground lead mounts in this hole? Hornbrod the horn does not come on with the ground wire removed. However, if I secure a lead to the steering wheel stud and with the other end of the wire tap the spring loaded pin in my second photo (2 o'clock position) I can replicate the horn function. The picture you posted is helpful, but it does not show where to mount the brass end of the wire. Thank you guys again
  18. Horn was not working due to missing relay and connection at the horn. Installed new relay and made connection at horn, now horn stays on full time. I removed the steering wheel to continue troubleshooting and noticed that the wire brass end with plastic spacer (photo) was not connected to the steering column (photo 2). Please let me know where to attach the wire. Also any advice you have towards the horn being stuck in the "on" position please let me know. Thank you Thank you
  19. As stated in the topic for an 87 Please contact me if you have a set. Thank you
  20. Guys my apologies for not being more descriptive. My truck is an 87 I6 4wd 5 speed. The harness is located under dash and is near the accelerator and ECU. I did find a black ground wire that isn't attached to a connector, however did not think it would attach to the blue/black wire in the above photo.
  21. Hello, As stated in the subject please help identify this connector. There are three wires Blue/black, Yellow/black and Tan. The blue/black wire is not connected (looks as if it was cut) and i cannot find the wire it should connect, nor can I find the mate for the harness connector. I have searched the schematics with no luck. Thank you
  22. Cruiser54, Thank you and good luck with the dryer.
  23. Cruiser54, Please reference the AC schematic, the vacuum hose connections on my truck do not match the diagram verbatim. On my truck the orange hose from the recirc door is missing and the number 7 vacuum port is occupied by the blue hose from the floor door valve. Also my number 8 port is block from the factory, therefore I have one less port than what the schematic shows. My question is does it matter where I tie in the vacuum connection for the orange recirc door hose, since the entire system works of vacuum?
  24. Cruiser, The port for the outside air valve on my AC control vacuum control system is blocked from the factory (no opening for a hose). Since the entire system works off vacuum can I splice into either of the open ports to provide vacuum to the outside air valve/ (recirc door)? As long as each valve is provided vacuum how critical is the source? Also as for tip 22 I can check that one off the list, ordered the parts from NAPA and installed them. I am taking your advice just a little slow getting there. Thanks again for the help
