For those of you who've done this: Is there an interior paint from a good brand that matches the charcoal(grey) interior panels? To be more specific I have a set of seat tilt lever bezels that need to be painted. Thanks.

Duplicolor's vinyl dye is a pretty good match. Been turning my MJ's interior charcoal/light grey. And it matches the charcoal in my XJ.

I just had a local auto paint store vendor mix me a quart of both the dark charcoal and the lighter gray for both my 90 and 91 MJ's.  The color is spot on and I use a small detail gun to spray it all.

SEM interior dye. Be sure and use the cleaner/prep product first.

Do you happen to know which color is closest to the lighter parts of the interior? There are several greyish colors in their catalog.

This is a question I have also.  I'm partial to the SEM interior spray paints.  I've found the caps are pretty accurate as to the color, and I used to have a auto/paint supply store nearby that carried all the SEM interior colors so I could take a part in and compare.

Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint in light grey, charcoal, and matte black. Advance Auto Parts. $7.99 per can. Get all three colors. Match great, but not sure how durable yet. Just did it today. Looks great for now.

The dark charcoal is SEM 4020

The lighter gray is SEM 4500

I took non faded interior pieces in to the paint store and they matched them perfectly.  I bought a pint of the 4020 and a quart of the 4500.  I am restoring both the interiors of my 90 eliminator and 91 Pioneer.

I did a google search on those part numbers and came up blank?  What line of SEM products are those numbers for?

SEM Color Coat.   Flexible covering.

very common in any reputable automotive paint store.  You can get it in many different colors in spray cans. The numbers I posted are the color code formula numbers for the two shades of charcoal that are the subject of this thread.  It is mixed in quart, gallon, pint cans like any other automotive paint.

I'm trying to reference those numbers to the Color Coat spray cans.  All the info I see online shows the cans using 5 digit part number.

You need an emplyee to cross reference it...or call SEM direct. I imagine they would be happy to help however they may not offer that specific formula in a spray can.

So after looking at several of the grays offered by SEM at my local O'Reilly's paint store, I tried the 15763 "Storm Gray".  I brought along a seat vinyl sample and a hockey stick door handle from my 91 XJ.  If anything, I think it is a little light.  Also, the dash, console, and carpet on my 91 XJ seem to be a much darker gray and there is probably a better match for that shade.  My MJ doesn't have a gray interior, but I assume the colors are similar to the XJs.
