krustyballer16
Does anybody know how keep hardened steel bolts tight in an aluminum thread? The hubs on my drift trike are aluminum and after putting the wheels on, then bolting them on WITH blue locktite and torquing them, after riding it just a little bit, all the bolts came loose. Any ideas? Might try longer bolts and putting lock nuts on the back side of the hubs...
DirtyComanche
It shouldn't be a big deal. Is something not straight, or not seating correctly, and do the bolt threads properly match the hub threads?
krustyballer16
Right threads and everything seats good when tight. Just all the vibration and movement of the wheel works them loose.
Wiggilez
I don't know if its the same for you, but years ago my dad wanted a kick stand for his KDX 200 so he used steel bolts to hold the kick stand on to the aluminum frame of the bike and all the vides actually cause the steel bolts to damage the aluminum threads so it caused a situation like yours. cruiser54
Permatex #2 on the threads?

The aluminum hub is probably too thin to get enough thread surface for Permatex and the others to bond properly. Use through bolts with steel insert lock nuts (not nylocks) or Stage 8 nuts, even better.
