McClare
Hi I'm new to these forums. I got a 92 comanche with a 3" lift and I'm looking to put a 97 front end on it but I'm not sure exactly whats involved in that. Someone told me I need a new hood and fenders but when I took some measurements it looked like I just needed the front piece (front clip?), and the grill and maybe some headlight buckets. Anyone know for sure?
88swampedmj
your hood is fine... but to make the body lines match you should get new fenders..
rockhardzj
Header panel, anything that attaches to it, and fenders just keep the look clean. You can do it without fenders (I guess... ) But it won't look right.
McClare
what lines won't match up?
88swampedmj
well the new header panel has a little bit different body line than the older header panel so if you want it to look right... youd have to change out the header panel.. fenders and bumper.. they pretty much all go together

JohnQ
You can get the 97+ fenders cheap. You don't have to replace the hood just the header panel and everything the bolts to it. It's a pretty simple install. The hardest part is having to modify your wire harness for the extra lights.

rockhardzj
Find a parts XJ in a JY or bring home a hardly wrecked XJ to part out... I have my JY buddy searching for a good candidate for me, as the XJ I bought and stripped had a cracked header, and busted driver side lights as well. I have my JY buddy searching for a good candidate for me, as the XJ I bought and stripped had a cracked header, and busted driver side lights as well. Was at the jy yesterday and they just brought out a 99 which got t-bone after the front passenger door. I took the mirrors and considered the front clip conversion. I was even thinking of doing the motor and interior/dash swap. It was very clean inside and out. :brows: much more fung shui Can that be said with kid's in the room :D

Since we have fiberglass header panels, they break easily, so I think that's where all of those are going. Also, my U-Pull-It doesn't have anything newer than 10 years old. The regular JY handles the newer stuff.
