Money_Pits Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I have an 86 comanche, 2.8 manual 4x4 lwb, gotta fix up. My dad has a collection of soon to be scrapped vehicles that I can yank parts off of, but I don't know everything to look for or what to snag. So, if you all don't mind if I pick your brains, I'm going to list them here and if you could help me put together a list, that would be great and would save me a ton of time when I get to them. First, a 1997 dodge dakota 2x4, 3.9l auto. I know I need to find out what axle it has. Second, a 1993(?, maybe 92) dodge dakota, 318 auto 4x4 Third, a 1999 Ford explorer 4.0l 4x4, possibly the axle? Fourth, a 1998 dodge durango, 318 auto 4x4, though this one I may not get to pick apart since mom has an identical one and we may keep it. Thanks in advance for the help, Money_Pits
mikekaz1 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Durango steering box (not sure about Dakota). Ford 8.8 rear axle.
yxmj Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 You can keep the rear leafs off of all of them and make a couple of bucks selling them to the XJ guys to make Bastard packs with
88whitemanche Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 The Dakotas may have a 8.25 axle...you can use the rear leafs for an add a leaf...or use for a bastard pack... The explorer you can use the rear axle for that 8.8... And the Durango is for the steering box...that's just about it that I can think of that's useful...lol
Eagle Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Relays are always worth grabbing, if they use standard relays for anything.
