there's a thread in the DIY forum with the various factory driveshaft lengths.

I got my 2wd shaft shortened.

not that anyone has found yet.  between the exactness needed and the insanely huge variety of driveshafts out there, it's the ol' needle in a haystack (made even worse by junkyards that frequently bend the rear shaft when they pick up the truck with a forklift).

When I swapped in my AW4 my rear shaft was 1.75" too long.  I had the local drive line shop shorten it, check it for balance and put in my new u-joints for $45...they even painted it.  Took a day. YMMV.  I thought that was pretty quick and easy

I did a HNT also when I did my conversion. Had a custom shaft built with heavier wall tubing to the tune of $300ish.

HNT?    :hmm:

all the driveshaft places around me wanted $250 plus to shorten and balance mine.   I went to tomwoods instead and for $200 I got a brand new warranted shaft shipped to my door
