8.8

Recommended Posts

The 8.8 is a solid choice. Make sure you budget for spacers to compensate for the width, a companion flange so you can bolt up a Jeep drive shaft, and perch mounts that will allow you to move the axle back 1" if you want to keep your stock drive shaft and you are staying spring under.

Thanks....so cards on the table what would be a fair price for the above descibed diff(don't have a pic...but I have looked at it a couple of times)

it is out.....clean......fluid drained....from what I can tell new seals and brand new rotors....I would still go over it all and replace with new....but by my description what would be a fair price?

I wouldn't pay more than 300 for one that was in perfect shape.  if I have to buy brakes, then 200.  if anything else is needed, than 100.  make sure the calipers are there. even if they are bad, the core fee for them is quite high.

Thanks for all the info....fell into the need to have/price range so I pulled the trigger.

Just a thought...any problems with having the pumpkin offset?

And is the offset really noticeable?

no problems with that at all. Just make sure to measure from outside in when making mounting locations for the spring perches and shock mounts. I have seen it too many times where guys go center to out side with there measurements and don't realize until the axle is under the truck that the axle sticking out further on one side vs the other.
