If I don't finish this now .I'll finish this later tonight when I get home .

First line up the splash guards to the flare leaving roughly a 1/4 inch gap like this ..

Making sure the guard is level, look on the inside of the wheel well and you'll see where you'll need to slice the guard to clear the lip where the bedside and inner wheel well meet ..

You will also have to remove this screw ..

Then take a piece of masking tape and put it on the splash guard roughly where you're going to have to make the cut . I used my 4 inch angle grinder with a cutoff wheel ( you may choose whatever you're comfortable with ) I made the cut about 1/8 inch wide x 2 inches in length .

Then it's as simple as drilling holes in the guard and the inner wheel well and attaching it with some 1/8th inch screws with a large washer so the guard doesn't pull through .

I bought 3 sets of rear XJ flaps for this purpose, but they're still sitting in the box. Thanks for the post and FYI to others I am willing to sell the extra two pairs if anyone is interested. Brand new in original boxes with hardware (NOS).

Let's see a pic of the finished product.  This is what the regulation MJ flaps look like for comparison:

It don't fit in front of the flare? You don't think it looks odd?

Looks good Adam. When you get a chance please grab a pic of the inside fender mounting too since this is in the DIY forum.

I need to find the mixed-matched pair I got from the local PAP and take a look at them again.

1.) I think they had the front on the back and the back on the front.

2.) At least make some templates and create PDFs if folks want to just make their own.

I did this with some Honda Passport mudflaps that a friend gave me for free. Didn't turn out nearly as good as yours but I did it on no sleep at 2 AM with a dim flashlight. I'll try this during the day sometime :D definitely want a Jeep logo on them.
