If I have my lights on and turn the truck off before pushing in the switch my lights stay on for a bit before shutting off on my '92. Kind of like it was kept on the "auto" light setting on newer vehicles. When I found this out I always made sure to turn the key to the on position and then turn the lights off and turn the key off again just to be safe
