What are these two wires in engine bay near fuse box?

Recommended Posts

The flat one could connect to the washer fluid level indicator (C168)

The not flat one could be for an XJ rear window washer motor. (C195)

The wiring harness was the same for MJ and XJ.  According to the 88 electric FSM, both connectors were not used in the MJ.

I don't believe the MJ ever had ABS.

What yr is your MJ?

I was hoping one would be for the 4wd indicator light.  This is an 89 Comanche that was 2wd...  I about to convert it to 4wd and I have the connector on the transmission ready, but need to figure out where the wires are in the harness.  I need to get into the electrical schematic, they should be in the harness somewhere...

If I take the dash out I see just a single connector on the indicator lamp panel, they are not separate...

Thanks!

I grabbed a washer bottle from a Cherokee that had a washer fluid level sensor in it, exact replacement for my original bottle and the "add fluid" light in the dash worked.  After adding a bulb.

On another truck I grabbed just the fluid level sensor, and using the bottle from the XJ as a template, cut the hole in my original bottle, and used it.  Also worked well.

If you are grabbing one from the junkyard take a meter along to check that the sensor actually works.  I went through a couple that didn't before finding a good one.
