Jacob Ochs
Here's a tool that I made to avoid the 20 mile trip to the parts store. I used the factory shaft bolt that holds the wheel on and a washer and 2 studs. I also don't weld that bad this was just a quick little project to get my ignition cylinder changed out. Hope I helped, I'm sure it can be made out of different materials as well.

schardein
That's genius. I have the tool and carry it with me in my bag on junkyard outings. That would save some room and a little weight.
Incommando
Jacob could you post up the washer and bolt specs for us?
64 Cheyenne
Does it even HAVE TO be welded?
shelbyluvv
I think you could drill holes in the big washer, slide the bolts in the holes and then run some nuts onto the bolts.
64 Cheyenne
Doesn't the washer just "push" on the bolts?
Jacob Ochs
Jacob could you post up the washer and bolt specs for us?Sorry I've been away from home but the washer was a 3/4 inch washer if I remember correctly and the two bolts were 1/2 inch cut down to an inch long and welded on each side
Jacob Ochs
Does it even HAVE TO be welded?Yes or else the bolts would come flying out under the pressure
