rearview
I waiting for the block to come back. Started looking at engine paints, wanted to go OD green or AMC green instead of black. AMC green blacklisted in CA from Eastwood. Any ideas on where to get either color as engine paint? Found this color reference chart http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?manuf=AMC&con=m&year=1988&rows=50for all AMC colors in 88 which got me thinking about repainting and re-striping. The stripes seem impossible. Mine are like this jeep Is this going to be a special order to the local vinyl shop?

Jeep Driver
Engine paint? Go to any automotive paint shop and get a quart of acrylic or urethane made to match. There is no such thing as 'engine paint'.
Jeep Driver
Image Not Found Image Not Found If you do not believe me.......search for images of high end auto/custom builders.....engines.....all use standard acrylics/urethanes .......you can even go metallic or pearl. No clear coats.

There is no such thing as 'engine paint'. I think this is engine paint...seein' as how it says "engine paint". https://www.duplicolor.com/products/enginePaint/ I'm thinking if was painting my engine, I'd want something that tolerated high heat and resistant to grease/oil...but this here is sure engine paint. I don't think I'd go with regular old paint, I'd use engine paint.
Jeep Driver
This is precisely why I don't bother to respond 90% of the time. http://www.eastwood.com/ew-ceramic-engine-paint-quart-chev-ornge.html?fee=7&fep=3430&adpos=1o1&creative=61491481260&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&SRCCODE=GA220010&gclid=Cj0KEQjwgoKqBRDt_IfLr8y1iMUBEiQA8Ua7XXMZBMKCHajUp-KDuTfSiIF6nTHCKAi9xG11Uc8wUo8aAvli8P8HAQ See link, see properties of the product <<<<<<<<< URETHANE Yes, it has 'ceramic' powders added.........what ever the hell that means........ Duplicolor, which I use BTW, 1635, for incidentals and ease of application where and when I need a cheap and quick black paint.........is good up to 500 degrees. Well, guess what? so is your common automotive acrylic. For wheels and such, when I need to 'push cure', I'll bake them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes after an overnight dry. Here is my tractor, engine and frame were painted with urethane, and more than two years later.......good as new-

Yes, the commie bastards in your state have decided that the colorant is cancer causing and banned that color, among others. Have a family member or a buddy in another state order it and then ship it to you.

rearview
Mines in the garage so I could not get a good pose from her. I duckgo' d 88 comanche with red stripe and that one showed up. Mine has white spokes and black face. The fender flares are white, not black. Pioneers had the color matching upgrade flare, so maybe that truck is changed to black flares. Payed just over $9K new for mine Tore my factory rear bumper up pulling a 3 axle loaded frosty ice truck out of the mud. The smittybuilt pulled an 18 wheeler out of the ditch on Hopland. and a cal trans out down on 138 by the I 5. .Little rusty now. The stripe is stick on tape. Is that tape new on your truck? gogmorgo
There was a guy on here a while back talking about a guy who did new vinyl for some of the original decals. Might have had an eBay store, maybe? I'd do a little more digging for you if I wasn't on my phone in the middle of a road trip.

I've even seen pics of my blue one on eBay. I didn't like the white on white or red on red look so I painted the flares, have factory black sets I need to swap into the two Pioneers. That stripe is original from what I can tell. There's a guy in Canada that sells stripe sets on eBay by the name of prop_kulture, I bought SporTruck stripes from him, he might be able to make the colors you want. rearview
That is a factory stripe. Most of the ones I see are faded. I pulled the stripes off when I got the truck with a hair drier. Now I am thinking of returning the exterior of the truck to how she looked when I bought her. looks like he has it in grey only. 2 bills. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1987-92-MJ-JEEP-COMANCHE-PICKUP-PIONEER-HOCKEY-STICK-STRIPE-DECALS-STICKER-/161617739316? . fiatslug87
He does take offers. What color is your interior? Mine is claret (burgundy) and I swapped in buckets and door panels with the matching cloth so the red stripe matches. The stripes do have fading and wear, just can't see it in the picture.
