Building up a very fast Comanche. I have a 350 small block under the hood. I have experience stiffening the frame of baja buggies and tube frame cars but I don't know how to start with a Comanche. The unitbody front and full frame rear has me in a bind. I know the absolute best thing to do is cut it all off and build my own full frame but I don't have the money for that now. Anybody have any ideas on how to build up the unitbody under the cab? For the rear I'm thinking 4130 2x4 .095 or .125 gussets then lightweight them. The front though probably stiffen sidewalls and sandwich top, maybe add gussets but I don't know what the best option would be. Anyone have any experience with this?

The rear only looks like a full frame. It's the same weak sheet metal as the front. People plate the uniframe for strength all the time. Some companies sell kits for the xj, which could help with the front. Google xj frame plating

I utilized XJ frame stiffeners, only front stiffeners will fit the MJ due to cab stiffeners. The rest of the unibody/uniframe i utilized 3/16 or 1/4" plate i can't remember.

mnkyboy do you possibly have the measurement for the frame sa? I have a cnc plasma table at my shop I can get them made but I am two hours away from the truck now and have little time to drive up there and CAD the frame. Which I will do eventually.
