Ok ... Spent the better part of a day trying to find replacement hinge pins for my MJ.

Anyone know if there are any? Or even a pin I can modify to suit.

Going to tackle re-aligning the driver side door again, but it sags about 1/4" or so when it opens. I pulled parts from the 92 as far as shims and such go. Just need to replace these two pins.

And do they just press up? Or do I grind the head and press down?

Found lots on the 97+ hinges for XJ's but nothing other that rewelding the hinges to the body for earlier models.

A lot a people claim the easiest way is to cut the pin in half, then drive the top one up and the bottom one down

I was looking at that one but thought it was about the door check pin, no way channel locks are gonna press out the hinge pins.

Checked the eBay site ... Ouch! $24 shipping for two. Man, that's steep ... Guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Might be a lil cheaper for shipping there.

Mine comes in the mail tomorrow, Hope the old one comes out easily.. By the amount of slack in it, i think it is broke in half lol

Down to $21 but parts are up to $9.24 dammit ... EBay it is then. Less hassle.

I'll order extra and work on another generic crossover then.

Rockfrog.....I see by your location you might be near a Canadian Tire store.

I was able to get a couple of pins that worked for me at my local CT.....they were in the "Help" section with all the replacement window cranks and trim repair pieces.......I am positive they were a doorman part.....sorry I do not have the number......but it might be worth your time to take a look.   . :MJ 1: .

What do the guys who convert to removable doors use? Seems to me I recall reading they use plain old 1/4" bolts (or maybe 5/16"?)

I cut the pin in half and removed the bottom half of the hinge and pin so I can lift the door up and off. Doesn't really help. But I believe people use a 7mm roll pin.

So ... Just to kill this beast.

Got the eBay hinge pins, way off. Way to big and thin as paper. I ended up scabbing the door side hinges and pins off the rear of the 92 XJ I chopped up a few weeks ago. Not perfect but better. Had to cut the old hinges off as the stock roll pins weren't coming out for no one.

At least now it's an easier fix in the future. Although I'll have to get my hinges welded back on if I do it again. Glooped some SikFlex on the hinge seams just to keep it dry.

You got lucky, the pins I did use had to have the hinges set in a vice, and spent time and heat to get them to finally budge. Used my u-bolt press to seat them so I didn't accidently hammer my hinges off the body.
