mfpdm Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 He passed away this week. You old timers would know him better as Gene Gene the Dancing Machine. Always loved his bit as well as the rest of the Gong Show.
jimoshel Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 The list of 'old timers' just keeps getting shorter and shorter.
neohic Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Don't need to be an old timer to know the awesomeness behind the Dancing Machine. :(
Rockfrog Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I used to watch that show all the time, it was my favourite show back when it aired. And just who was "The Unknown Comic"
glundblad Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I have never heard of the guy....Where have I been?
mfpdm Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Funny thing was Gene was just a stage hand and they ask him to get on stage and dance just to fill a time gap. It was so popular that they made it a regular skit. I used to watch that show all the time, it was my favourite show back when it aired. And just who was "The Unknown Comic" If I remember right, he finally pulled the bag off and immediately failed as a comic on tour.
HOrnbrod Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I have never heard of the guy....Where have I been? Me either, but I wasn't around much when it was on. But I do vaguely remember the unknown comic with the bag on his head.
NHMJXJ Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Could it have been a CIA hit pulled off by none other than Chuck Barris? :???: There's a film that alleges Chuck Barris was secretly a CIA assassin. "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"
