NHMJXJ
So, if you're not in New England, you've probably heard we've got some snow here. I was an Air Force brat and moved around a bunch, but have spent the bulk of my life in New Engand. I survived the "Blizzard of '78", but I'll tell ya ... I do not remember ever seeing 12" storm after 12" storm followed by single digit temps for prolonged periods. My home town of Manchester got a good 24" of snow a few weeks back, followed by several smaller storms that left 12-14" in their wake. It's snowing as I type and we're forecast to get at least another 8" of snow. This is friggin' crazy! So much for global warming.
nitroxsteve
I was headed to Manchester on Monday but canceled the trip. Bad weather was part of the reason to cancel.
NHMJXJ
I have had a need to travel to Cape Cod several times recently. I listen to WBZ AM radio for traffic updates. They were covering a press conference with Boston's Mayor, Marty Walsh. When asked about snow removal, he stated, "We've had 70" of snow in the past 14 days ... it will take time to remove it from the city". That's almost SIX FEET of snow in a metropolitan area. Think about it. It's not as if you can just chuck it over the hump on the side of your driveway. My nearly 90 year old parents live in Hyannis, on the Cape. Their road was a goat path. The Cape is generally temporate and any snowfall is usually gone in days. There's easily 36 inches of snow on the ground. Barnstable County (which includes Hyannis) does not have capacity to re/move snow.
AeroNautical
Sounds like our UH-60s have their work cut out for them, relief and what not.. We need a machine to remove the snow without the need for a plow, or space to move it to. A machine that is quick and easy to operate. Fun even.... gogmorgo
Same story for our East Coast as well: In some ways I'm a little disappointed I'm missing out... but then again my screws aren't loose — I sheared them clean off.
