dscowell Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Way to go! Not trying to be creepy but I always remember reading through the comments and seeing your truck as your picture on youtube.
AeroNautical Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Whoa, whos that handsome guy? haha, this was actually an "audition" video, I did a pretty poor job with camera work and correctly installing the new socket. Stage fright? I re did the work with heat shrink and swapped the high/low wires around. I think it still gives a good enough explanation on how to do it yourself, though.
86XL Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Nice job, I use shrink tubing as much as I can. Electrical tape can come undone and allows moisture to enter.
88AKChief Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Nice job, I use shrink tubing as much as I can. Electrical tape can come undone and allows moisture to enter. this Also flux will help draw the solder into the wires at a lower temperature and create a better connection.
mvusse Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I have always been taught that the solder is not supposed to make the connection. Get a good connection by twisting the (clean) wires together good, then solder it to keep it from coming undone.

X2 on both of these comments, trying to solder without flux is a lot more difficult.
