54bobby Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 guys, my son took my renix 2.5 on a road trip and the down pipe to the manifold bolts came loose and the nuts dropped off. the pipe became disconnected and the heat melted the tubing that comes out of the tb and goes to the fitting in the rear of the vc also the tube that runs to the tb right next to it and runs along the fire wall an up towards the front of the engine compartment (not sure where). the truck is in a shop 250 miles from home. the vacuum harness is also damaged. the guy that has the truck is going to look start the work today and will call me with an update. is the vacume harness available for an 87 2.5? i'll try to get some pics and post them up later.

88whitemanche Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Unfortunately they don't make the vacuum harnesses for the 2.5s.... The shop would have to make their own vacuum harnesses which I saw the other day they are coming back out with the hard plastic vacuum lines and other accessories to make a complete harness at advance auto....
54bobby Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 does advance have them yet? what would it be listed under?
54bobby Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 does anyone know what those melted wires are for?
88whitemanche Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 They don't have the complete kit but the vacuum lines can be made...after work I get out at 3pm I'll swing by and get pics of the part #s to those parts
54bobby Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 thanks 88wm, that will be great. the damn truck is almost 250 miles away in a shop.
88whitemanche Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 There's different size hoses and elbows and a lot assortment parts to make a harness...some of those that you see burned are easy to access connecting to other lines.... Image Not Found This is what I can upload so far...I'll get the rest of the pics up soon
88whitemanche Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I hope this helps...if I was driving my comanche id show pics how easy it is to put back these lines...
54bobby Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 thanks man, if i had her at home it would not be a problem either, but she's 200 miles away. and i'm worried about my girl.
54bobby Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 can anyone throw up a good engine pic or 2 of the 87 2.5 that i can send to the guy that has my truck so he can have some references?
Bornindesert Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I have some 88 2.5l pics, not sure if that would help?
54bobby Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 is that a tbi or mpfi engine? mine is a throttle body injected engine.
Minuit Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Looks like a TBI to me. It should be pretty much identical to yours. 2.5s got MPI in '91.
88whitemanche Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I have some 88 2.5l pics, not sure if that would help? This totally looks like my vacuum lines....all made up from bits and pcs from another jeep and enough to make them fit tight to create good circulation
54bobby Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 guys, the shop that has my truck says they need a vacuum valve that sits by the exhaust. he says it goes in a vacuum line that runs between the tb and the map sensor but dosen't know what it's called so he can get one. any help??
54bobby Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 not the egr. the truck is 200 miles away so i am relying on his discription. he will send me a pic tomorrow. i'll post it then.

54bobby Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 finally got the truck back and the guy that had it (200 miles away) screwed up all the vacuum lines. need some help asap. i know the pics are small and i can't figure out how to increase the sizes. please bare with me, i need your help. pic#1 here is of a line that is conected to the tb and runs to the fire wall. is this correct? pic #2,3, and 4 is of 2 lines of different diameter that run from a canister on passenger side and are not conected to anything. this last one is of a nipple on the air intake that had nothing conected to it when i got it back.
