The first pic is correct, map sensor to throttle body.....

The lines on your valve cover are wrong unless you have swapped valve covers...

the bottom one goes on the top and connects to under the throttle body next to the one mentioned above

The top one goes to the bottom and connects to the air box

I will get more details about the rest of the lines when I get home to my truck but please have more details as to where the lines that are missing connections to as I or someone else can help you get you where you need to be

This one on mine has always been capped.......have no idea what it was for but you can cap it.

As for the hoses on the VC......does not really matter which hole they are coming from as long as they go to the air box and the other to vacuum.

As for the other.....yeah, pics are too small.

here are the flikr links so you guys can see larger pics.

these 3 are of the lines that aren't hooked up. they run to the pass side. the larger is connected a canister looking thing and the smaller 1 to what looks like some kind of a swich or sensor.

These two should go to your canister at the front bumper.

I suggest you start from scratch. Get some hard line and some vacuum hose and begin to reroute everything.

May take you 3-4 hours over the weekend........but you really need to clean it up and organize it.

I'd search for a vacuum schematic.

they are conected to the canaster in the bumper. where do these ends connect to?

I'll bet your heater valve and blend door does not work.

The canister is just a reservoir to hold vacuum when a surplus is needed.

Really,  you are going to have to go off a schematic or find another 2.5 that you can use to trace down where everything goes.

Sorry to hear you had this problem, too bad some dumbass can't put 2 and 2 together and reconnect the lines they way they were originally.

You've inspired me.

I'll go through mine this weekend and clean it up.

Will post pics of essentials for you.

thanks man, i really need some help. the truck runs ok once warm but has trouble holding idle when first started too.

A MUST check....

As  you can see, there is oil on top of my valve cover, the vacuum line port on the throttle body was completely clogged. I used a screw to thread into the hardened muck and pulled it out.

This has been like this for a long time, I'm sure it was clogged long before I got the truck, I just assumed it was working.

gude, u r da man. thanks for the shots. in your 2nd pic, the line that feeds the bumper canister, where does that hook in at on the tb/manifold area? right where ur finger is mine is cut but intact the rest of the way to the bumper.

thanks man, this almost has ne there.

ok, now, which one of these lines would cause the truck to struggle with idling only when cold? once she warms up, she purs.

i know the small line from the vc runs to one of the ports on the tb. is there any other line that are supposed to be t'd into that same line? i'm thinking no cause of the oil flow. that leaves 2 intake ports left. the 2nd one on the tb and the port on the intake mani. do all other lines get tied into those 2?

also, does anybody have part#'s for the 2 grommets in the vc?

hopefully this will help. I think this is correct, unless its for a MPFI?. After reading this i decided to check my folder filled with my jeep pics and stumbled upon these was planning on using it Someone has screwed my vacuum lines in the past and I need to get to it just havent had the chance

This is the accurate schematic.

Keep it simple, Bobby.

Two ports on the TB.

Lower goes to the VC, which is supposed to be at the rear of the VC.

Upper goes to the MAP.

Port on intake manifold goes to EGR solenoid and is there T'd off to the canister at the bumper.

The second line off this port goes to the air cleaner plenum, from there to the air box (I believe, as my air box is gone).

If your idles poorly..........I would check the EGR........the next thing I would suspect is the MAP........when map is unplugged or bad it will not idle.
