Crossed your part number and looked at application, searched a random car on rockauto and found this:

checked application on the part listed on the bottom and found Cherokee but no Comanche:

Sounds a bit on the pricey side, especially because I had bought 2 at the time. If I would have had to pay $260, I'd have never bought more than one...

I'll do some digging.

Rob

Have to remember that I am in Canada, dollars different too

Oh hell yeah tell me about RockAuto & shipping to Canada.... sometimes it's OK, sometimes it's a train wreck.

I know I need, exhaust, intake, valve cover, turbo gaskets,.. so if they are all in the kit it will likely be my best option value wise. Can the diesel gurus make a list or items to add to my parts list so I can get ready for it coming "home" on the weekend

Posted

I would just start with all the maintenance items and filters... As for reaching out for help... You are going to be more or less on your own. opsled has been deep into his, but he doesn't get on much. I can only be of so much help, but I am going to be regurgitating what is in the book for the most part. The pics show a lot of work ahead, I would wait to get hands on it and give it a big once over so you can get everything all at once. Getting this thing back on the road will be more like a marathon than a sprint, so take your time and sharpen your patience.

My biggest item I could tell you to add to your parts list is a set of FSM's.

Along with the truck is a "xeroxed" (photocopy for the younger people on here) of the winnabango factory engine service manual

No u-haul dollies available Saturday so tow truck it is,..

Obiously all new fluids, filters, battery,...

Dumb question here,... But how long is diesel good for sitting??

Will old fuel work or do I drain the tank,.. If it was a 4.0L sitting the same amount of time I'd hit it with some good fuel and fire it lol

I would replace the fuel. You are dealing with something that will probably be finnicky and weird, best to take out any variables while getting it back on its feet.

Cheap insurance.
