jamba Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I did some damage to my drivers side tail light... :( (i also broke my front, but thats another story..) If you find it hard/expensive to find them, you may imagine how hard they are to find here (in Finland) as Comanches are quite rare here. So i had to take Dakota's tail lights and try to fit them... Images show bigger if you click them. Dakota's light goes quite easily to Comanche's light hole, but needs drilling near original places, arrows are there to show new holes As i didn't want to weld any new metal and Dakota's lights are bit too slim, i made a piece of sheet metal to cover that missing part. Just bended it and srewed it to original inner attachment. Dashed line shows how it goes behind... Then i cut edges to fit Dakota's attachments an placed screws to it As i'm still hoping some day to get original tail lights, i just removed uppermost bulp and taped it. Comanche's bulps went in nicely. I sprayed sheet metal piece matt black. Looks ok, if you don't go too near :) Sorry about my spelling and writing mistakes..
dankicksass Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I think it looks like a good fit, especially since Dakota lights are about $30 a pair brand new. Nice work.
sinkrun Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Looks good maybe someone on here that hoards tail lights could help him out.
yellaheep Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Indeed, looks pretty good. What's it look like from the rear looking at the tailgate? I don't hate it. I'd be more than happy to send him a couple of OEM tail lights, but shipping is gonna be stupid-high.
jimoshel Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 jamba, Pay the freight and I got a tail light I'll send ya.

But as i kind of got used to chrome... i added a stripe to these They ended look quite nice Painted edges with humbrol silver (model paint) and now i'm back with original lights. Maybe i really should wash the vehicle one day...
