But as i kind of got used to chrome... i added a stripe to these They ended look quite nice Painted edges with humbrol silver (model paint) and now i'm back with original lights. Maybe i really should wash the vehicle one day...

  12. And you have to let it idle before you stop it, to secure enough lubrication to turbo
  13. After a small crash i had to fix nose of my mj. I ended up to put in facelift nose and shortened bumber from 86 parisienne. I stil have to cut flares and fenders a bit to make it look decent...
  14. That really looks avesome! Btw, has anyone a thought how would xj:s rearseat fit to Comanche?
  15. Yep. I use eb often, just to keep them cables working.. Now i broke the cable from release handle. I took it off (2 torx) and when looking it in my hand, thinking where would i get new one I found it's quite soft metal, so drilled a small hole to the end of it. Then i filed a groove and pressed a quitar string to it. (Quitar string has a small bushing on the other end) then i assembled handle back where it belongs and wired a piece of "wire stopper?" ,sorry i don't know the word. And just cut leftover with wirecutter. Hope you get the idea, it has been ok now about a week, so think i just leave it as it is. :)
  16. Ok. Thanks Minuit :)

  18. Here's one from back. They don't line up so nice :( For driver's side tail light? I can do that, That would be great!!! how much would it cost? Via PayPal ?
  19. I did some damage to my drivers side tail light... :( (i also broke my front, but thats another story..) If you find it hard/expensive to find them, you may imagine how hard they are to find here (in Finland) as Comanches are quite rare here. So i had to take Dakota's tail lights and try to fit them... Images show bigger if you click them. Dakota's light goes quite easily to Comanche's light hole, but needs drilling near original places, arrows are there to show new holes As i didn't want to weld any new metal and Dakota's lights are bit too slim, i made a piece of sheet metal to cover that missing part. Just bended it and srewed it to original inner attachment. Dashed line shows how it goes behind... Then i cut edges to fit Dakota's attachments an placed screws to it As i'm still hoping some day to get original tail lights, i just removed uppermost bulp and taped it. Comanche's bulps went in nicely. I sprayed sheet metal piece matt black. Looks ok, if you don't go too near :) Sorry about my spelling and writing mistakes..
  20. I like that tent :) where did you get it?
  21. These are great tips! I just started to collect parts to lift my Comanche.

  23. Got "new" grill from junkyard, brakes fixed and "new" 31x10,5r15 wheels (bigger than these aren't streetlegal to Comanche here, offroad you may use as big you wish..). Now trying next to get this to inspector and streetlegal
  24. Welcome. The diesel is a pretty rare thing over this side of the pond, and the MJ is a pretty rare thing over that side. Does that make yours extra rare? :brows: Looks like a pretty solid truck. Care to elaborate on the Pontiac grill? Well... It really wasn't so solid when i got it. But you're right about how rare they are, there's about 50 Comanches in Finland, and i believe most of them 4L. When i bought the car (as a project) it had no grill but some rust. So i started welding. Rocker panels are now made from 100x50mm steel profile and body parts from 5mm steel plate. I think they will last few years now. I took grill from a -86 Pontiac Parisienne as i have one my backyard.. My plan is to get a grill from a XJ. Now that i had welding done, i'm working with brakes, then some electrical issues and maybe some day next month i may take car to inspector and get it leagally to road.. I have had -74 Wagoneer, -90 XJ Cherokee and -94 Grand Cherokee before, but never i had one with diesel engine...
