ComancheKid45
Been pretty quiet with this lately, I have lined up a buyer for the J20 frame after i get my final measurements from it, Been picking away at the Dodge but am leaving the cab on for the winter months to provide shelter for the drive train. Been slow otherwise since losing my job at the end of July however I have another job lined up and the interior of this thing will take shape over the Winter......1 step at a time ;)
ComancheKid45
Finally touched this project for a bit today and got the old torn up dash out.
neohic
Anything new on this one, BJ? Found a thread over on Pirate that reminded me of this... granted it's only because the guy did an engine swap but it wasn't anything cool like a Cummins or anything. Had a very tasteful looking dash in it though.
ComancheKid45
Oh Wow, That looks great! Looks like he has used the HVAC system that BJs Offroad offers too. Sadly this project has sat idle for the last couple months, I had been unemployed over the summer and fall so I didnt want to throw a bunch of money at this incase of anything unexpected happening but I got hired on with Norfolk Southern and have completed my training and just began work this week, so Ill actually start having a reliable income once again and this project is at the top of my list... I hope to have the interior all together come early spring time and then I can start working on the drive train. Its going to be slow going but it will begin to come together over the coming months

ComancheKid45
I plan to have the body off the Dodge early in the spring and will be tackling the drivetrain. Id hope by the end of summer/early fall I have the 2 combined permanently
ComancheKid45
Been working on installing Hushmat in the cab. I guess this truck started out red, than went to an olive drab green before finally being painted Blue by the Fire Dept.

ComancheKid45
Finally getting back to this project, threw some color on the interior panels, hoping to have the dash reinstalled in the next week or so and start tearing into the Dodge by mid May. ComancheKid45
Tearing into the Dodge. Once the cab and bed are out of the way its time to have some fun with the drivetrain and frame......goal is to have the J20 cab set on the frame by Winter. ComancheKid45
The new interior color flows together nicely, soundproofing should help out a lot as well keeping that Cummins rattle outside the cab.
88whitemanche
Great progress man! Keep it up! That's a huge project. Idk if I'll be able to do something like that... Well I'm still on the first one lol the Comanche
ComancheKid45
Its the biggest thing ive ever attempted for sure but with no deadline its a great learning experience and will be something totally unique when its finished. The other jeeps I own plus some friends, help break up the work so I'm less likely to get burned out over such a big project as well. Thanks for the compliments btw! Megadan
I need a really big bag of popcorn to pay attention to this thread. I had a thought the other day of a 6bt powered J20... Now the thought is a want. Sweet project!
ComancheKid45
Knipping away here and there between work and the crazy humidity. I have the majority of the frame coated now and will begin running new brake lines shortly. As for the cab, new venial flooring, headliner and door/windsheild seal(s) are on their way.
