Tailgate Handle Fixes/replacements...?

Alright guys, has anyone came up with a replacement part to use for the MJ tailgate handles. I have 2 perfectly fine tailgates now that have broken handles. I'm sure I'm not the 1st to have this issue so I figured id post up.

I've harvested the internals from one or two unusable tail gates and should have the handle assembly laying around.  PM me if you'd like one.

Ive read on here in the past that Chevy S-10 tailgate handles are the same. Might be worth some research.

I remember reading that, too -- several times. And then I remember someone posting that the S-10 handle doesn't work.

 

I wish someone knew for sure. (And, of course, it may depend on which year S-10.)

I opened mine one day and it ripped right off so I made my own and it looks pretty factory to me :thumbsup:

That defiantly looks good!.....Ive actually never disassembled a tailgate off of any of the trucks yet so i have no idea what id be getting into.

It's fairly simple, just take your time taking it apart

My tailgate is pretty well toasted so I could probably pull mine apart for the handle and internals.
