  1. 1. what should I do with it

    • take care of the rust, repaint it and new decals, and DD it

    • same as number 2, except it gets a 6.5" lift and some 33's and a nice front and rear bumper etc. etc. so I can wheel it AND DD it.

....that's only half, the other half is thru the garage door...but it's unheated. the roof leaks all over..it needs a new one :(

120ft long by 53ft wide. my dad's, not mine.

we just built one like that not long ago. but its full of tractors so not much room to work on stuff, during winter anyways. plus its unheated also. i think 180 x 60, but i don't remember anymore.

no seriously, I am drunk, I am not poking fun or saying anything negative and you have nothing to try and "correct" no matter what it is I quoted. I think you need to get drunk based on how you fill your truck up. Time to relax.

Good night.

Uhm, are we all just going to ignore this? Lol, do we need to have an intervention? I don't drink based on my fuel consumption, I drink to forget a bad clown experience

That's a good size play area. I'm really digging the ten-slot look. Can't wait till I put mine all back together with the new one I got. :brows:

:D yuppers, but the building is junk...it's gettin tore-d down and so is our huge barn, in the next year or two. we're developin our land, movin to 25 acres (nice upgrade from 12.5 :P) and that 25 comes with a further 72 acres across the road :D only 10 min. from where we are now!

I really like your truck man, wish it were mine....trade? j/k

thanks man, I'm stoked about it.

vote, what should I do to it? I'm keeping it for sure, but here's the options the way I see it:

1. drive it stock, use it as a DD don't do anything to it.

2. take care of the rust, repaint it and new decals, and DD it

3. same as number 2, accept it gets a 6.5" lift and some 33's and a nice front and rear bumper etc. etc. so I can wheel it AND DD it.

4. sell it to one of you guys for an arm and a leg :P

I want it DD either way, so I can park my 3800 in the winter...I don't want it to rust.

ideas? improve upon my ideas? lift suggestions? any help would be hot.

ooh! can I wheel the street truck too!? lol, that sounds like a pretty good idea. does a grand have a CAD front end? this truck does...so I need a tcase with vacuum crap or I need to go non-CAD or put that selec-trac switch in it to control the CAD

all of the AWD/full time XJ/ZJ/WJ had solid axles, but I would just slide the vacuum collar over and lock it permanently. I think Mjeff posted up some phtos somewhere.

an AWD street MJ would be kick @$$, I'm sure you can agree with me on that one.

it is if you really plan on driving it hard.

I say get some beefy addco sway bars, poly bushings, maybe even drop the suspension an inch.

Rock a limited slip 8.8 in the rear, with a full time case. You'll have traction to spare, and proably outhandle some cars.

I think I may be forced to let someone else make improvements on it...but I'm fixing what needs fixed before I decide for sure.

got the new U-joints today, have the new galvanized sections for the floor, and i have the idler bearing and exhaust manifold gaskets on order.

any tips on taking the exhaust manifold off while the engine is in the truck? i don't want to remove the intake if I can avoid it.

well guys, this thing is gonna be for sale soon...

I am fixing the 1 rust hole on the floor, removing surface rust from it, and undercoating the truck. also, I will be installing the new intake/exhaust manifold gasket and a replacement exhaust manifold with no leaks, and a new exhaust donut. I am also installing the new heavy duty front greasable Ujoints and new front brake pads.

I removed the chrome grille and painted a nice 10-slotter and some nice headlight doors bumper black. it looks really good. I removed the windshield visor, cleaned up the small surface rust where the holes were, and put some black-headed rivets in the holes with some silicone so they look good and don't leak.

this thing is:

1987 Sport truck

4.0 (runs good could use tune-up)

aw4 column shift auto (shifts nicely)

np231 tranny (works great)

CAD dana 30 front axle (CAD operates correctly, 4x4 light works on cluster)

dana 35 rear end (idk what gearing this thing has)

black with maroon interior and original comanche maroon bucket seats and full center console

new axle Ujoints

new exhaust from manifold back (manifold is nice used manifold) including catalytic converter and glass pack

looks to be a newer gas tank, and even the fuel pump sounds and operates like new.

fresh undercoat, replaced bad portion in the floor

has dummy gauges

4 pane split rear window

bed-mat

decent toolbox

Kenwood tape deck

Kenwood door speakers

118,000 on the ticker

clear title. (and 3 sets of keys)

stock steel rims go with it, but I may be persuaded to part with the ZJ rims.

typical rust over fender flares in rear, some rust bubbles on the truck. driver's side over the fender flare is the worst of the rust.

I don't know what I am looking to get out of it, so go ahead and make me a serious offer. any ???s go ahead and PM me

I'm lookin for offers colton. I'd like somewhere around there but we will see.

Pete, It isn't for sale yet, but yes, when it is, I will either post it up there OR I will ask you to move it if that would be alright? i don't want to yet because perhaps by some miracle I will get to keep it?

I'm out of work and have some uh...legal...things on my hands at the moment that may or may not result in it needing to go. plus if I sell it....I may be able to get a nice lift? (sorry i'm trying to rationalize it...)
