Since I bought my truck I haven’t been able to roll my windows down all the way. So today was a monumental day in its history. I finally replaced the regulators. It was easy, I don’t know why I drug my feet so long on this 😬 I’m stoked! Passenger side was really cooked. That’s what I snapped pics of.

Got the Jeep on the lift today and added a little heat shielding on some Transmission lines. Also picked up a exhaust pipe heat shield that attaches with hose clamps. Prob will grab a few more to add in some more places.

Also after a few years of head scratching on what was going on with my PSC pump being out of line with the rest of my pulleys I completed the puzzle. I ended up just milling the power steering pump bracket down 5mm by hand with a band-file. Solved my squeak!

There isn’t anything to look at other than my new green belt tho lol.

Knocked out the transfer case and front driveshaft. Had a little mix up with the rear shaft, but Shawn Wood got me squared away this week. Good people over there. IMG_0001.jpeg.3057efbf367a7a45fd0feb46affbe993.jpegIMG_0002.jpeg.ce80c193fa4953a87b2f1e1d546dad28.jpeg

Also got the Dirtbound rear quarter armor for the Jeep. Had to make it work with the JCR bumper. Turned out pretty good.

Two updates this weekend with Jeep things. Replaced both front wheel bearings and one of the tie rod boots on the Currie links. No pictures of that.
The fun progress is I reinstalled the rear JCR bumper with the Dirtbound armor all painted. 👌🏻

Few more things for the Jeep. Got some boxes for storage and making some crossbars to mount them. Driving the Jeep from Georgia to Moab in September so I’m trying to get everything I want done early instead of last minute 😵💫IMG_0122.jpeg.ca11e148c23dff52795ef685e4ac1e88.jpegIMG_0123.jpeg.030a7674fa69f8a3704397065fe7e190.jpeg

I’ve been silent the last few months but I was grinding away at the Comanche to prepare it for my trip cross country. I took it on a quick camping trip to the mountains to shake it down in August and found few things I had to fix asap.
After camping I came home and realized my brand new wheel bearings were shot.

I investigated deeper and found out the G2 axles I have had for 8 years never fully sat down on the bearing. They were machined wrong from the start. Big shout out to East Coast gear supply for getting me taken care of with new stub shafts quick.

I also installed a stinky fab track bar bracket out of an abundance of caution. At this point I was only a week and half out from my trip to Utah. I was feeling the pressure but I lock tited everything and torqued every bolt and nut. Safety wired my track bar bolt and paint marked everything to keep track of loose bolts. It was finally time.

We did it. Wheeled Moab. 4000 miles round trip in 8 days. Comanche did every bit of it. Would I do it again driving it, probably not, but did I prove it could do it, yep!

So rad!! All of it!! I’ve followed this truck since the beginning of the thread and it’s easily one of my favorites on the site. Everything is well thought out and obviously functional. Congratulations on the victory of the entire trip!

Appreciate the love. I just try to build vehicles that won’t leave me stranded when I need them to work.
