jimoshel Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I recently purchased a 1986 XJ with the sole purpose of flipping it for a quick buck. Took it out for a test drive, after buying it, and experienced the worst case of DW I have ever come across. Tearing into it I came across what the following pics show. Several of the nuts were so loose I was able to remove them just using my fingers. Apparently the PO was aware of it as indicated by the half assed welds and no attempt to replace the missing pieces. Thinking about taking it out and wrecking it and then suing the PO for deliberately and knowingly selling a defective and dangerous auto. I would also like to find a good pic host site. I tried for over a half hour to use PhotoBucket with no success, as usual. Finally created a Craigslist ad and copied the photos from it. Gotta go delete it now.
Comanche County Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 If he withheld information then you'd be in the right to file a case against him. CO has a law where the seller is responsible for any repairs for the vehicle if it doesn't pass emissions or has safety issues.
dscowell Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Thats scary! This might sound kinda "hipsterish" but I might try instagram for photo hosting I'm not sure if it would work its worth a shot.

Tinypic works pretty well for image hosting, don't even have to make an account on there.

jimoshel Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 It bolts to the frame. The track bar mounts to the bottom of it.
huck731 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 hoyl mother of god, I can't believe it held together for any sort of motion period.
hollywood2311 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Had a case of wobble on my 89 MJ between 50-55 mph. Recently bought some Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires on discount tire direct, and had 'em mounted to the stock turbine wheels. Got rid of the aftermarket wheels and Goodyear tires...no more wobble. I guess the old ones were simply out of balance somewhere. Looks better now too. The offset of the old wheels was so low that they were sticking out beyond the fenders. People were asking me if I had bought it off of a Mexican.
Pete M Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Jim, facebook works great for hosting pics too.
