Georgia: '92 4.0 Ho, Ax-15, 2Wd

Recommended Posts

Labor Day weekend was a big one for Georgia.  I took her on a 900 mile road trip to Ohio to help a buddy start converting his '92 2WD XJ to 4WD.  My trip souvenir was the 161K mile engine from the '96 XJ parts truck.  Georgia ran like a champ though I wish I had working AC on the trip home.  It was hot!

Had an odd one I had to track down.  I was hearing a loud rattle but only at startup or shutdown.  Turns out the weld on the exhaust hanger broke free of the pipe.  As the hanger was a U shape the pipe was intermittently contacting it.  Welded it back together and problem solved.

Giving Georgia some Christmas TLC and trying to get a handle on the interior water leaks.

First up the seam sealer on the cowl seams was cracked or plain MIA.  Cleaned it all out and put in some fresh 3M Dynatron seam sealer.  Some of the factory panel gaps were unbelievable!
