pug
A friend borrowed my mj. Called me the next day said was not working. jimoshel
Friends don't let friends drive their MJ'S. Take the speedo end of the cable. Make sure it's seated in the tranny, or TC. Try turning it with your fingers. It shouldn't turn more than a quarter turn. I made up a adapter to check speedos with. Take an old speedo cable and cut about 2 inches of the end. The end that goes into the speedo head. Chuck it up into a drill. see if the needle moves.

Pulled cable out had a kink in it so went to oreillys order new one.It was the wrong one went to autozone wrong one. I need the one with the plastic tab that goes into back off speedometer not the one with the threads. Does anyone know a part # thanks

Keyav8r
I never could find anyone who could get the Dorman cable. Bought a NOS cable from Jackson &Sons Jeep Parts - Talladega, AL - (256) 362-7772. If 256 area code doesn't work, try 205, but pretty sure it's 256. I'd tell you how much I paid for it, but I'd have to dig through the whole file folder and then I'd realize how much money I've spent on the truck and get really PO'd at myself. It was reasonably priced and available. Also bought a NOS exhaust manifold from him for $125.
mvusse
Both Autozone and Advance Auto Parts carry Dorman. O Reilly's probably does too.
