Jaime Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Hello everyone, I am planning on buying a new radiator soon. I was going to have my old one repaired but was told $80.00 or a new 3 core for $240.00. I remember see a post on here for a new one on line but for the life of me I just can't find it. I did a search and went back a few months and nothing. Also if my funds allow I plan on replacing the water pump. There is one at NAPA for $41.00 or should I just leave it alone until it stops working
MJRemi Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I think the post was from here...http://radiatorbarn.com/search.php?product=radiator It doesn't seem to want to link so just got to their website.
Jaime Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 That's it. The shop here in vegas wants $252 for a 2 row all metal. The radiator barn wants $276 for a 3 row all metal. I think I'll keep saving until I can afford a the three row to deal with the vegas heat. I know I said three row at fist but a closer look at the price they quoted was for a 2 row. Thank You!
HOrnbrod Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I've tried all metal 1, 2, and 3 core radiators to cool the stroker. The two core performed best for me by quite a bit, especially in stop and go traffic in 90* + 'Bama heat. The three core was the worst.
banshee Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Not recommending this seller, or even Ebay but here's what i got http://www.ebay.com/...ca904a4&vxp=mtr
airspeed Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I have had luck with Performance Radiator, looks like they have a shop in Vegas. http://performanceradiator.com/index.php
chastings Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I bought an aluminum 2 core rad from radiator classic? on eBay. Cost around 130.... I've ran it for a year with zero complaints
banshee Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I've had my champion 3core installed and cooling my 4.6 for couple years No issues, and yes got from Ebay B...
HOrnbrod Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Three core radiators normally work okay with the stock water pump, but in my experience a quality all-alloy two core works just as well or better w/o the added expense. For a high-flow water pump like the Hesco I have on the stroker, the three core radiators impede coolant flow due to the smaller passages. For me the two cores work the best and a single core works better than the three core.

Hum you really think that much better flow 4.6L with one 10” high CFM behind the tranny cooler and radiator and one 14” two stage where the mechanical used to be, if so Cool thanks B…
Jaime Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 I am leaning towards the 2 row all metal. I asume that I have a 1 row in it now. It works fine even with a pin hole. At first I was going to have the original radiator fixed but now I want a new radiator. Just have to save up.
