Dang I hate changing that thing.
-
Do you mean the switch at handle? I already ran an extra ground when I changed the fan. I was thinking of running another wire from that ground to the extra ground I have going from the battery to the frame per eagles Suggestion.
-
They don’t seem to be affected but the volt gauge goes from about 13 to almost the next line when the fan is on.
-
And it’s only the passenger side. It slows when the lights or fan is on but if they are both on it really slows down and the gauge goes up and down with every flash.

Hello, Well I took fuse block apart and cleaned up the connections as best I could. And got the same results. By the way it’s easier to remove the two bolts on the inside, then push the block in from the outside and tilt it up. You can see and access the outside bolt better. Eagle, I did clean up the connector behind the headlight. And put in the extra ground for the fan when I replaced it. Do you have a fix for the brown power wire you stated? That relay was for the horn. New one doesn’t make it beep but it was hit and miss before. Put the old one back on and pushed on the metal part and it worked but not with the button.

I managed to get a number off of itOhm I cleaned up the starter relay. It helped but the passenger side is still slow. On a positive it seems to have almost fixed my slow wipers. PocketsEmptied how in the world did you manage to take apart the fuse box. I took off the two screws inside lifted the tab from the engine bay side and can’t get it to come apart. Do I have to takeoff the brake booster and try and pull it that way? While taking the screws out a relay I think just crumbled. I managed to get a number off of it 25523703. Do you know what it might be for? Thanks

I installed the relay when I eliminated the C101 connector. I cleaned the C102 back when I eliminated the C101 connector but didn’t do it this time around. I will do that this weekend along with the fuse. Thanks and I’ll let you know.

Hello. My right turn signal is slow when the headlights are on and if the heater is on it almost doesn’t blink. The battery is new and I’ve tested the alternator and it’s good. I’ve refreshed the grounds and changed the two front turn signal sockets. Can anyone suggest something else I can check. Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone. From what I read bilsteing 4600 is what I’m going with, unless someone can suggest some that will give me a smoother ride. thanks again.
-
It’s stock no lift or bigger tries. I was looking at the Blistein 4600. At my Autozone for around 90 bucks. I prefer a smother ride since I really don’t wheel it. What do you think?

Hello, I have an 02 wj 4x4 I6. I’m looking for some front shocks for now and later for the rear. Looking some that are not so stiff. It’s mostly a DD with occasional trips to the lake for some fishing. What brad do you guys suggest that won’t brake the bank? Thanks!

Hey everyone don’t know if someone has already posted this. Have you seen the fast lane truck Chanel . They show a build up of a Comanche. I’ve seen the Comparison to a Gladiator and also the rebuild of a tranny. Kind of interesting.

If you want to see a video of what WD looks like and must feel like. Check out Fab Rats YouTube channel under death wobble.

I had a similar problem on my 88 a few years ago. It would buck and back fire like crazy then settle down. After replacing a lot of parts and taking it to a mechanic with no luck, it ended up being the ignition control module. I can’t tell how to test it. Never found out how. It’s about a $100 part. I went to the local pick a part and got one for 3 bucks. If nothing else is fixing the problem maybe give that a shot.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I’ll keep using conventional oil if synthetic might create leaks.
-
Not really about 1/2 a quart to 3/4 of a per oil change.
-
It is time to change the oil in my MJ and WJ. I was thinking of changing from conventional oil to full synthetic. I usually use Pennzoil as I can get it at a lower price at the base. What do you think? Also what weight should I use in synthetic?

Yeah he said it’s hooked into the heater hose making it think the heater is on. I don’t know how it does that but he seems confident that it works. He just posted it 3 days ago. Maybe you can understand how that works better than I can.
-
In one of the videos he stated that he is able to keep the temperature under control by adding a heater core and fan on one of hood louvers. He also said that he would demonstrate it on another video. It might be worth looking into.

I’ve been watching Matt’s Off Road Recovery. Pretty cool to watch him recover vehicles with his, almost stock, XJ that are 2 & 3 times bigger than the XJ.
-
Hello, Can anyone tell me if I can use the power window parts from a 89 XJ to convert the manual windows to electric. The donor vehicle has the wing window.

Gas overflow after filling up.

Found your post. Can’t wait until the next time I need to fill up. I’ll try the spout partially out next time. Any thing to try and stop it. -
Cool I’ll look for it.
