  1. I did this once in a similar situation. Buy the cheapest in-line fuel pump you can get and hook it up before the fuel filter. Then hook up power to it and let it go. On a sidenote can you check to see if there’s anything in the filler tube that might make the fuel spill over when the tank is getting filled.
  2. So I took gogmorgo’s advice and used the existing 7 pole. I used a 7 to 4 pole flat works like a charm. I have no way to test the brake controller but the lights work. Thanks again!!!
  3. Well thanks to you guys, I got it to work. Opened the adapter and figured out that the green and brown wires were in the wring pins. Now I don’t know if the adapter was wired wrong or the plug on the truck is wrong. The adapter looks like a store bought one. The plug on the truck is riveted to the bumper so I can’t pull that apart and check the colors. On my next day off, I am going to cut the wires to the small plug and hook it up to a 7 pole with a 4 pole plug on the side. I was hoping to rent a pop up from the base this summer but it looks like that’s not going to happen this year, since the base is shut down to retirees because of COVID19. Maybe next year! Thanks again!
  4. The brake lights (work), running lights (only the right side comes on), left turn signal (works), right turn signal (both lights come on), hazard lights (both flash), I put a probe light to the socket on the truck and it works as follows top right (right turn signal), bottom right (left turn signal), top left (running lights), bottom left (nothing so must be ground), brakes (both right & left prongs light). I’m starting to wonder if it’s not the adapter that is wired wrong. It doesn’t look home made. I might try and see if I can take it apart. Oh I forgot the adapter goes from round to a flat. Do you know what color wires are supposed to what connection?
  5. Hello, So I decided to tackle the wiring On the truck going to the trailer. It has a seven pole and a round four pole. The seven pole only has wiring going to the brake controller. The four pole wiring does not go to the lights it goes towards the cab behind the fuel tank and disappears. My question is this normal or has a previous owner monkey it up. The lights work but not properly.
  6. I got the lock set yesterday and installed them today. They work like a charm but what a pain to install. I also installed some window sash that I got at the junkyard. And look what I found behind one of them door panels. You can’t read anything but it’s there.
  7. I went to 4WP store here in Vegas and ordered a lock set from Crown. The picture showed the same lock that I have, with the lever. It will get here in about a week and half. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  8. Hope this worked first time.
  9. Do you by chance have the part number? The more I look into it on both sites the pictures just don't seem to match what I have.
  10. Hello, I am trying to replace the Door lock cylinder on my 88. I tried Autozone, Napa, & RockAuto. They all have the generic cylinder that doesn’t seem to work. Does anybody know where I can get a cylinder that does work?
  11. Thank you. I guess the only thing I need to decide is what is more cost effective. Get the junk yard seat and have it reupholstered or separate the Dakota seat and have new brackets made. I just don't know if I'll like the center piece sitting higher than the seats and still not be able to use the cup holder in the center section.
  12. My original bench seat is toast. I was basically sitting in a hole. So I thought that the colder seats would be a good upgrade. What the welder did was remove my brackets and weld them to the new seat. But today I found another Comanche in the junkyard with a Bench seat but that also has to be reupholstered
  13. The seat sits way to high, Graywolf said with his longer legs it made it driving easier to drive but I’m 5’9” so I have to sit closer to steering wheel to fully engage the clutch. It’s also is harder to get in and out of truck and now the rear view mirror creates a blind spot.
  14. Thanks and excuse my ignorance but what is a repop bracket.
  15. Hello Can anybody tell me if the bench seat from a 92 will fit in my 88. I had someone weld my brackets from my old branch seat on to a Dakota seat and I’m not pleased with it at all. Thank You
  16. Does anyone know if GrayWolf is still having the brackets made. I just got the Dakota seat and was interested in purchasing them. Also will these brackets work stick. I noticed in the picture his is an automatic.
  17. Thank You for your input. Auto Zone it is.
  18. Hello, It looks like it's time for a new starter. Just wondering which one to buy. I usually go with Autozone but if I can get one that will last longer and perform better I'll go with your suggestions. Thanks for any input.

    Comanche on XOR

Hello everyone, Did anybody catch this weeks XOR program. Featured and 88 Comanche being worked on .
  20. Hello, My emergency brake cable broke right behind the pedal. Does anybody have the part number for it, if I was to get it from NAPA. I have the long bed 88" or 90' depending on where the measurement is taken from. I read other posts and it seems that they are getting the wrong size. Just want to make one trip. Thanks!

    Battery

So I went ahead and got a Duracell AGM group 65 from Sam's Club. All the reviews I read were positive and a three year free replacement. I guess we'll see how it does in three years. I just wish they had a military discount since Nellis AFB is just down the road. Thanks for all your input.

    Battery

Hello, Well it’s time to replace my battery on my 2002 grand Cherokee 4.0. I’ve been reading reviews from autozone, NAPA, and others. Except orilleys they don’t post reviews. All the same bad in one way or another. I usually go with autozone. What do you think?
  23. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys on this. It's a good thing I'm not a betting man because I would have lost. I would have bet money that my BFG 31x10.5x15 would not fit in that space. The only limiting factor is the exhaust pipe. and even then I just pushed of to the side then tighten it up. Thanks again.
  24. Hello, Can anyone tell me the biggest tire that will fit underneath in the spare tire carrier. I have 31's on the truck now and want a spare as close to that will fit in the carrier. Thank You!
