Zenobian_84
Heading to the P&P to look over 8 Cherokees the yard recently brought in. Decided 'Ol Blue (benchseat name) has to go. I want tilting buckets and a spacious center-console, dangit. Problem is, the GF said she'd tear me a new one if I got rid of Ol Blue. I don't know why she's taken a liking to the bench seat; nothing exciting ever happens on it, if you catch my drift. :brows: :shake: I'm pretty sure she's just going to have to deal with it. I was probably going to get in hot water soon anyway with her; so I figure I might as well get it out of the way now. Anyone else have problem with their respective loved ones over Jeeps (who hasn't, right)? I love her to death, but the girl gives me grief over the strangest things... :thwak:

Biotex
I came home with an 06 rubicon about 6 months ago. It looked like it had just come off the showroom floor, and I wanted it since my CJ didn't have air and I couldn't drive it to the far away trails. Too uncomfortable on long trips since it had a 4" lift with 33's. The wife loved taking the CJ to the grocery store on weekends with the doors off, and just a bikini top on (the CJ). She got LOTS of attention driving it... So she hated ruby right off the bat calling her bad names and such because I told her I was going to sell the CJ to help pay for the TJ. I sold my restored Scout 800B and used the money to fully metal cloak the TJ. 4" lift 35's, bilsteins, the best of everything. When I got finished with the install, that TJ would drive 90 mph without the slightest hint of instability. So wifey decides she wants a new 4-runner since hers is a 2000 limited with the TRD supercharger package factory installed... you get the idea... Her brother comes to visit, ends up driving the 4-runner and purchases it on the spot. Now she is without a vehicle so is forced to drive the TJ until she picks out what she wants. I left it totaly up to her, and next thing I know, 3 months have gone by and still she is driving MY rubicon. She fell in love with it, and wants it instead of a new 4-runner. Moral of the story is that women don't know what they want until you give it to them! mvusse
The only loved one that gives me grief over Jeeps is my daughter. Her Cherokee has ~4" lift with 32" tires and she is always arguing for more lift and larger tires. I want to keep it a relatively low center of gravity because it's her daily driver, and for safety as she's 16 years old with limited experience on the road (off road is a different story, one of the best drivers I have ever known. Must be instinct as she sure didn't get that from me.) When I'm working on her Cherokee she will drive my off road truck, which is a dented and rusted piece of poo that doesn't have any dent free sheet metal left, including roof, hood and tailgate. She will not be seen dead driving my stock MJ. According to her the only thing worse than that would be driving the camper to school.
buffalob
count your blessings that she has not taken a shine to your MJ. Keeping the kids from mine has cost me a wrangler and two cherokees ha ha.
ParadiseMJ
My wife is pretty sure I'm having an online affair... ...not so, I'm just on the forums all the time.
johnny quest
yup. running into this exact problem right now. we're trying to buy a house, and my gf has decided she wants a ring. so if i spend anything on the MJ, she gets pissed, cause 'thats money that couldve gone towards a ring'. ugh....
