87shortbed comanche
i have been looking at this site for a while and finally got to posting some pics of my MJ. it has a 44 hp ford front we narrowed to waggy width. and a dana 60 rear out of a 66 f100. both axles have eaton e-lockers and 4.88 gears. the front is a 4 link longarm. it has been lifted 8.5 inches. i have put in grand cherokee front seats. I have done the 2lo kit for the transfercase. just got done putting in a 96 inline six with the higher flow intake from a 2001 cherokee.

billyzj
not to much into the rock crawling, but pics like that I'm ready to wheel places like that
87shortbed comanche
the reason for the difference is that i had a 6 lug waggy rear 44. I just swapped to a 5 on 5.5 dana 60 rear that is a wider axle than the 44.

87shortbed comanche
ya I am going to get rid of the roll bar. it would look a little off to try and convert smaller tube to the bigger stuff. it would be fun to go too the Moab thing this fall. 87shortbed comanche
Ā here's the high steer all done. thanks to summit machine for the billet joint for the track bar and parts mike for the machining of the high steer knuckle and arm. plus put some new sway bar disconnects on. 87shortbed comanche
here's a couple picts of my new bully bar/light bar on the comanche. it was a good time making it. tons of hard angles on the bars to compensate for. to get it looking good. zackcj7
Like the bar. Did you bend the tube yourself? Ā Who makes the bumper.
87shortbed comanche
yep I did the bending of the tube myself. the bumper is made by rigidco . the bully bar is designed after rigidcos one they sale. I did some changes to it so it would be different. my brother in law has the same bumper and the bully bar from that company.

earl*t
The landscape is incredible. Could you give us a closer look at your rock rail and rear bumper. The bumper appears to be exactly how I intend to build mine with additional side protection.
87shortbed comanche
ya I can get some picts of the bumper. The side protection is quarter inch plate that we plasma cut to fit the dimensions and bent the plate to go around the sides.Ā
earl*t
Quarter inch is very substantial. In your posts it appears you do a little tail draggin on approach angle. I'd guess the plate isĀ reinforced to the frame? If it works for you, I'd like to borrow your design.
87shortbed comanche
ya it is reinforced to the frame where the bumper bracket goes and behind the flares. its all cool for you to copy. i will get the picts tomorrow.
