The damn thing won't fire

if I put gas into the throttle body it fires up

replaced fuel pump, filter, distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs

cleaned ignition coil, c-101, tps

checked fuel lines getting fuel to the rail

Any other ideas??????

I had a whacky issue with the fuel pressure regulator myself, never could get it to test bad but as soon as I broke down and replaced it my issue went away...though my issue was an over fueling one rather than not starting. :dunno:

Did you check for spark on all plugs? If fuel pressure is good at the rail and you are getting good spark at all cylinders, then I don't know. Timing? ECU? It would seem something is telling the spark to spark at the wrong time.

This may sound stupid, but maybe your air intake is clogged? Fuel and spark mean nothin without air. Or another far out idea, if the cat was 100% clogged it couldnt run then either, but thats pretty unlikely.

Hmmmm. . . :hmm:

Well what do you think about a problem in the throttle body, maybe the choke?

You don't have a choke -- you have fuel injection. If it fires when you dump gas in, then the CPS is good and the throttle body doesn't have a problem. You are confusing people by saying it won't "fire." If you have spark and it starts when you pour gas into the throttle body, it DOES fire. You aren't getting fuel, so it won't stay running.

I'm also confused by your statement that it doesn't accelerate. If it only starts when you pour gas into the throttle body, how can you drive it? Accelerate is when you increase the speed of the vehicle on the road. If you can't drive it, you can't accelerate.
