alternatives to bucket seats

i really want bucket seats and a console mainly beacuse of the arm rest, but i know there eill com a time when i wished i still had 3 seats, do you guy think these seats from a ranger will work

I'm gona say no, since the trans hump is SO high in the jeep and so low in the ranger BUT if you did the bucket seat mod(cut out the "middle" seat and tuck the cover in the side) and just kept the armrest it could work, but then brackets would be a pita also.

My answer is to avoid the ford seats. We have an 05 Ranger edge with that seat and it sucks. The ford seats are very hard and also tall, I think fitting them in the comanche would be quite an undertaking due to the stated difference in tunnel heights.

 

I think we have to accept that we can make xj seats fit with some work but we should really look at full suspension seats if we are going to spend a lot of time wheeling in our trucks.

Couldn't you make a drop in center section out of hard foam to go between your manche seats instead of the console? Chunk of hard foam, little trimming, little fabric, you should be good for a sometimes 3rd seat.

To be truthful, my bench won't sit 3 normal ppl.

It'll seat 3 small ppl (i.e. me at 5'5", girly friend 5'0", and her friend at 5'1").

3 ppl that average 5'6" can't do more than hurt while riding around in the truck.

whoa now. With determination. 2 guys 5'11 and 180+ pounds and a girl 5'10 170 lbs can stuff into my benched MJ. Its a tight fit and everyone gets to know everyone else. And you need to open the doors from the outside, and lock them on before you shut them, ect. It can be done :)

whaat, i can fit 3 people in my truck with buckets, thats me at 5'11 7/8ths :roll: 125lbs, buddy at 6' 160lbs, and another guy at 5'9ish 150ish

 

and its not THAT bad, just gotta move for me to hit R gear and 5th.

 

however, we are good friends. (note, i have a cooler as a console between the seats that the lid flips down to make a nice middle spot; note also, over 18 in GA in a truck you don't HAVE to wear a seatbelt so it IS legal: brows:.)however i wear my belt all the time.

The early chrysler cordoba's had an arm rest thet folded up for a 3rd seat. It only came in bucket seat column shift cars.

By early I mean the first ones (75-77) with the big round headlights and high back buckets

You might even find it in "Fine Corinthian Leather"!!!

in? or on? i've had 11 persons transported at one time BY the MJ... but that was 8 in the bed, me and 2 others in the cab... my truck really doenst give a poop how much weight it hauls. but i couldn't spin em... i tried :mad:

Is the MJ truly a mid-size truck? at the time that it was introduced it fell into a hole it wasn't exactly a small truck and it is not quite a true mid-size either.

Kelly Blue Book says that the Cherokee's a mid-size, but that the Comanche's a 'small pickup'.

 

I as well think against the Ford seat. I think the MJ has the second tallest tranny tunnel I've ever seen, second only to the Hummer.

I'm 6' and almost 300 lbs (my side of the bench sags perfectly to fit!) and my sons are 5' 8" and 5' 10" and 6' respectively. They take turns as to who will ride "b*@$£" in the back.
