Was on my way back from the hardware store and stopped at a stop sign only to have my clutch pedal go straight to the floor and I stalled, so I started it in gear and rev matched the gears for the remainder of the way home :fs1:

It's leaking brake fluid between the motor and the bellhousing and between the bellhousing and the tranny... Sound like a bad slave? soapbox.gif :help:

just trying to get a definite answer before ripping the tranny out :wall:I know the I won't find out for sure until I have it all apart.

wheres a good place to get an oem one, from the stealership?

Reportedly NAPA carries an OEM.......IIRC $130

 

But I went external when mine went so I never bought it.

 

There are posts all over the net of the cheaper ones not lasting and I have talked to one guy personally who replaced his twice and the third one went in the course of a year.....OReilys

I have a LUK clutch 'kit.' The slave that comes with the kit is supposed to be a good one from what i've found and read online. Since you may have to replace your slave, you might as well throw in a new clutch also.

Just got home from work and checked everything over and had my little brother push the clutch pedal down for me, since everything was soaked down there with brake fluid when i got home I didn't Even think to check the line, it blew at the backside of the bend on the rubber part :doh: I've called advanced auto, carquest and autozone. None of them carry it, would a dealer have it or should I goto a hydraulic hose place and see if they can make me one?

Thanks comanchekid! Called up the nearest napa and they don't have any in stock but I'll try a couple other no name stores before I order it online

Since I was swapping to auto anyways, I did the fill with Crisco trick on mine and got another year before the pilot bearing seized to the trans input shaft!

You could have one made up in braided steel line. Any hydraulic shop should be able to make it up.

I was thinking that or make one myself, out of larger diameter hard brakeline. Ill most likely call a few more places in the morning and try to get one, if not ill find out how long the shipping is from rockauto. My truck is my daily driver and my only other option is my bicycle :roll:

Make sure it's flexible or the next line that will brake is the one in the trans to the slave..........that is where mine went.....very weak there IMO.

I just ordered it through rockauto, napa was $28 and up to 8 business days for shipping, rockauto was $21 with 2-3 business day shipping.... now I just have to sit and wait :nuts:

Thicker oil and it didn't leak out after the second fill up. People don't seem to know the only fluid to be used in the early master/slaves is Castrol GTLMA because the other brands eat the seals.
