cody4359 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 got bored today so i took my GLI to the audi dealership so it looked like i could afford something nice. found a 2007 Audi RS4 (turbo v8 6 speed) and took it for quite the test drive down the freeway. the exhause note is sooooo sexy on that car but even with it having 80,000 mi they still wanted $38k for it. thought of trying to drive the R8 but figured they'd just laugh at me, or id wreck it and have to sell my house and live in a cardboard box
AMCJeepMJ Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I receive invitations from BMW to test drive whatever 'new' vehicle they're pushing a year after it comes out... 1 series, V8 M3, 6 series convertible, 3 Series hardtop convertible, X6, etc. They're fun, but I could get into a lot of fun and trouble with a newer M3.
Vintage Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I test drove a 2008 Pontiac G8 recently. Newest thing I've ever driven. Even forgot my wallet when we went to the lot, still let me get behind the wheel. It was nice, except that this car lot had some of the nicest 'Vette's and Camaro's I'd ever seen. Aaah, someday. Someday I'll get to test drive one. I'll never own one of them damn things.
cody4359 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 ya id get in trouble too but it was still fun to test drive. took my radar detector just to be safe and the salesman was a cutle 19 year old chick. finally got her to scream when i hit 120 mph in a tight spot lol got back i acted interested then left :D
Dadinator Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 If I could afford a 38K car, I'd totally be getting an 07 Shelby...
Comanche County Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Keep it Jeep gentlemen....for that price your well in the range of a used 07-08 SRT Grand, even a Viper. For god's sake why drop 40K when you can wheel a good used Viper or an SRT Grand for far less. An Audi/BMW, come on man, get serious, have you been on a strict diet of sappy green tea and European Farva beans? I know a local doctor who gives 20% off for sex changes, I'll see if I can send you a coupon. Man up sir!
cody4359 Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 I know a local doctor who gives 20% off for sex changes, I'll see if I can send you a coupon. Man up sir! not a huge fan of the viper, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 would be fun but i guarantee you that the RS4 would whoop its @$$ in the corners, not to mention it has a 6 speed manual and the SRT8 is just a auto. we all know that TX is known for steers and... well it rhymes with that, and seeing as you have a hookup for a sex change i think that saying was just validated ..i.. :D ..i.. not that I'm offended by your comment but to me a car enthusiast loves LOTS of cars/trucks, not just one make. my real dream car, coming in at $178,000 is the Audi R8
Comanche County Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Oh its all in fun and games sir, I mean no offense and certainly do not intend a personal insult ... but if you do get it, just don't let my MJ know where you keep it parked, because sometimes it gets a mind of its own and likes to go out and smash little Euro trash Bruno inspired pansy metro-sexual cars like that no matter how much they cost. Ooh and you got me on the doctor comment, I should have worded that better....dang it, I'm going to go watch Predator now and man up myself.
cody4359 Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 oh its all $#!&s and giggles til sombody giggles and $#!&s :D you my friend have never been in a S4 or RS4, because they are far from pansy or euro trash :smart: a GLI on the other hand  2007 RS4 420 hp 4.2L V8 (sales chick said it had a turbo, it doesnt) 317 ft lb torque 0-60 in 4.5 sec S4 has 340 hp and i didnt feal like looking for the rest
AMCJeepMJ Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 37k is 5 year old Maserati Quattroporte money. Just sayin'.
cody4359 Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 lol i agree its alot, but i believe 2008 was the last year the RS4 was made. just a rare car, 6 in a 300 mi radius of me. one day ill have one, i hope. but I'm thinking of getting rid of the GLi and getting a sonoma for a commuter then maybe using the left over $$ to build a shop.
Comanche County Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 you my friend have never been in a S4 or RS4, because they are far from pansy or euro trash Well all you guys go off and buy your Audis and BMWs and Porches and whatever Eurotrash rides you think are cool, then move to Europe and stay there you pansies.
cody4359 Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 would you like it better if i wanted a Type R civic or NSX lol
Blue88Comanche Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I almost had a Grand Cherokee SRT-8 for $5,000  Too bad i was and still am broke...
AMCJeepMJ Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 My stepson's 98 GC 5.9 is fast, but would rather have something that goes that fast and is European [Audi R8 as above, a 10 year old Porsche Boxster (lots of bang for the buck), a 20 year old Ferrari 348, even a 'lesser' euro car such as a M-B E-class or BMW 5-series that has already taken the depreciation hit]... they're more of a status symbol. Jeeps haven't been a status symbol since the days of old full size Waggys. Not doggin' on Jeeps or American cars in the least, BTW... every car in my household is American [as noted below] and I love driving my dented Jeep every day.
Dadinator Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 you my friend have never been in a S4 or RS4, because they are far from pansy or euro trash Well all you guys go off and buy your Audis and BMWs and Porches and whatever Eurotrash rides you think are cool, then move to Europe and stay there you pansies. Like I said, good ole American Shelby.
Comanche County Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Fellas, I've got a thrown disc in my back or something like that which is killing me, going to see the doc soon,,,,I also spent all day in pain swapping a 44RE out of a ZJ, so I guess I was having a bad Jeep day and was pissy...I apologize for my mean spirited comments which violated my own "always be a good dude no matter what philosophy"....and I admit, those cars are cool. - I just can't afford them.
jimoshel Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 A 1958 Siat (Spanish built Fiat) 500 with a turbo charged 500ci Cadillac? :huh???:

AMCJeepMJ Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I like the new Fiat 500s that are stateside, but think they're about $5k overpriced. Fellas, I've got a thrown disc in my back or something like that which is killing me, going to see the doc soon,,,,I also spent all day in pain swapping a 44RE out of a ZJ, so I guess I was having a bad Jeep day and was pissy...I apologize for my mean spirited comments which violated my own "always be a good dude no matter what philosophy"....and I admit, those cars are cool. - I just can't afford them.
