1wingnutt Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Sorry no pictures available at the moment, raining outside. What would be a fair price to ask for a 1990 Comanche Pioneer 4.0? 173k milage, A/C works Manual transmission, body in excellent shape (blue in color), bedliner intact, original Jeep radio (woo-hoo!) The Good - new transmission and clutch, brakes, alternator, starter, fuel pump, exhaust, hoses, lots of tread on the tires. Not so good - oil blow-by issue, lifters are knocking, no headliner or headliner panel, some small electrical issues (ie radio turns off and on, side marker lights not wired) Been driving it to work, hasn't left me stranded yet! Just don't care to put anymore time or money into it.
maddzz1 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Without knowing what state you are in it is gonna be tough for anyone to give you a price.
1wingnutt Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Good point. This truck is in the Charleston, South Carolina area
mnkyboy Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Does it really have a blow by issue or does it have the usual oil in the air box issue that most MJs/XJs have.
87Warrior Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 A straight, rust free truck like that would sell between $1k and $3k in KS.
mnkyboy Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Oil in the air box That's not blowby, its a crancase ventilation issue. Its normal for a 4.0l to do that, there are some easy fixes for it.
Jeep Driver Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I'll give you $1K and be there in the morning.
b16gsr Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 A straight, rust free truck like that would sell between $1k and $3k in KS. Yep could not agree more. Took me a long time to find one with a good body in this price category.
Jeep Driver Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/2811188688.html No rust, no damage. Owner has had it for 15 years. 2W 5sp
Jeep Driver Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 http://macon.craigslist.org/cto/2811443955.html One of yall better grab this one.
Comanche County Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 No such thing as rust free in Charleston. Unless the truck immigrated there. But starting at 1.5k isn't too bad.
1wingnutt Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 I appreciate the input from all. I got some good emails and advice... thanks.
