landlubber
Has anyone been to an auto show where they have the 'jeep camp' set up? Pretty good demonstrations, they had almost the whole fleet out doing laps. I got to get a ride in the new GC overland at the new england international auto show, Rides very nice. Got a video of some going over the obsticles. TCr2nZeZ-fc&sns=em
cody4359
they have the "obstacles" setup so the smalles rig will make it over without a problem, not to impressive to me.
87MJTIM
We (wife and I) went to one back in '98. It was outdoors. Jeep set up a course in a field. We drove one of their vehicles. A rep had to ride with us. If I remember, it was "invitation" only. We got the invite in the mail and had to RSVP.

Automan2164
I take a ride on one of them every time I go to the Chicago auto show just to say I did. The Camp Jeep was out by the Twin cities when I went up to visit Ben, and I checked out that while I was there. You actually got to drive at the camp Jeep one. The auto show you are just a passenger. It's more fun at the auto show because people ride just to go up the big hill, and if you get a good group of girls, you can hear some good screams and hollers. I miss the Dodge/Chrysler one... When the Charger came out, they would race them up to 60 in the building, and slam on the brakes... Now that was fun indoors. Rob

89eliminator
even though its a simple course, I'm sure it still draws over the crowd and generates interest in the brand. i went to Camp Jeep in 06 when it was at road america. you could sign up to take a lap on the track (by yourself) in a GC SRT8. Easily the coolest thing i have ever done. You could smell the brakes everytime someone came back. Then you could take a ride in one while a Skip Barber racing teacher was driving side by side with another GC.
Comanche County
Old Jeeps are better! True, but those new Overlands have truly fine interiors, IMO the finest 4x4 on the market, as well as near the very top for the luxury car market. I don't see how the Range Rover beat it for 4x4 of the year,,,,I think Jeep simply needs to meld the Overland and the SRT-8, or just give the Overland the SRT 6.1 and Quadra-Drive II then its untouchable by any auto maker's SUV. I'd have one but I just checked my wallet and I'm short about 48 grand.
mvusse
I've seen Quadra Drive II in action (friend's father bought a brand spanking new 2012 model last year). Truly impressive.
