akai
Been looking everywhere, and I'm going to assume this is a topic that has been beaten to death. But does the later XJ Dash fit in the Comanche? I want to think it would, or it not, it would with some finessing....but I would want the answers here instead of listening to the voices in my head.... >.>
CWLONGSHOT
Just about everysingle part, from the back of the front doors forward, is IDENTICLE between a Comanche and a 4door Cherokee. This includes, Interior as well as exterior. CW
Landoloops
When you say later model XJ are you talking about a 97+ or just later then 92 when they stopped making MJ's? I have often wondered about the 97+ dash/interior that would be an interesting mod

feerocknok
Dash changed in '97 with the redefinition. Atleast a couple guys on NAXJA have done it. This one was unfinished but on CarDomain: Thought I had pics of a finished one...

87manche
I think the only really difficult parts of that swap would be Getting all the parts Making the speedometer and guages work, since that dash is all electronic.

fiatslug87
yea put the head off of the org. speedo on the new face should work then. Wouldn't it only be accurate if the markings are in the same places as the original?
Eagle
The 97+ speedo might work with the wiring in a 91 or 92 MJ, but the 90 and older had a mechanical speedo. I seriously doubt there is any way to adapt the old speedo to both fit and work in the new style dashboard. And don't forget that Chrysler also reversed the polarity on the gauges in 1991. Hook a new style gauge up to the 90- wiring and the gauge will read in reverse ... gas gauge will say empty when the tank is full, temp will say it's 260 degrees when you first start the engine, and oil pressure will go down as engine speed increases. jared
don't run the cluster, you could get an autometer guage setup and a piece of aluminum in the stock cluster location, which would be really cool but a bit more expensive. or a gps speedometer so it doesn't matter what tires, or gears you have its always right.
