Comanche_Fanatic Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Welcome and great story. Thats a deal for $500 and you drove it home. Looking foward to seeing your restoration. definitely is! its valued at least 3x more than what i got it for lol, WIN! first major mod ima do is probably paint it. since the body has sections, i can do each one at a time. I'm thinking rattle can olive drab green and sanded down to a shine
kyleag89 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Your front header panel assembly, front fenders, and bumper are the newer style off a 97+ Cherokee. This is the older style 86-92MJ 84-96XJ

This is the older style 86-92MJ 84-96XJ ahh gotcha, yeah i knew the front was different, i guess alot of people are gonna guess my MJ year wrong lol. i do the like it aside from the side lighting, needs some mods and diff color panel, probably orange. tires look awesome in that pic, what brand are they?
kyleag89 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Thats not my truck, I found that pic while searching for the rims it has on it. American Racing Baja wheels, I want a set for my truck.
Automan2164 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 That truck is an old members MJ... His screen name escapes me at the moment... Pete will have to help me out. Unfortunately, that truck was rolled in an offroad excursion. Rob L. :(

kyleag89 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I really love that MJ in the pic I posted... Too bad it met an untimely end. :fs1:
Comanche_Fanatic Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 I really love that MJ in the pic I posted... Too bad it met an untimely end. :fs1: hmm picture this, repainted olive drab green and sanded down to glossy finish, white lettering and star on the hood, 31" BFG MTs on military style black rims, black bedliner, restored interior. thats how my jeeps gonna look when I'm done
kyleag89 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 There is a used car lot in a small town in PA outside Gettysburg that has a MJ olive drab green, with a white star on each door! It wouldn't look too bad if they didn't paint EVERYTHING green. I will have to snap a pic next time I drive by.

I'm leaning towards black cause it'll match wheels and bedliner. what u think?
Pete M Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 That truck is an old members MJ... His screen name escapes me at the moment... Pete will have to help me out. Unfortunately, that truck was rolled in an offroad excursion. Rob L. :( I believe Scott is his name. can't remember the screen name though. the truck was off the road when it rolled, but started on the road when he was dodging a horse. :(

I'm leaning towards black cause it'll match wheels and bedliner. what u think? I would do what ever you like. I am a kind of plain one color(black) kind of guy. I literally painted everything but my rims black, but I have a chrome grill and light bezels I might throw on to see what it looks like. I used to have a set of AR outlaws that were black, made the truck look really good with the tires sticking out. I removed my fender flares just for the fact that I hate the way the stock wheels stick in so far with them on.
kyleag89 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 This is my truck now with a lil yellow thrown in the mix!
SW86 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 sup yall? just came over from Jeepforum.com :) wanted to say hi to yall. this seems like a great forum to join, since theres not alot of Comanche knowledge over at JF. its funny since the front ends are Cherokees you'd think people would know but then again the truck bit does throw you off for a second if your not used to it. Welcome to the club man!
