whatwheels Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Hi, new member here with a 1986, I am sure this has been answered many times. But, will the 31x10.50x15 BFG a/t tires fit on a stock truck. thank you.
btm24 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 yes they will and will look great. they will rub when you lock to the left on the lower control arm's. welcome :wavey: Brandon
Garvin Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 As Brandon said, they will fit. They will rub a little before full lock. I bought my '86 with 31x10.5 mud terrains on it with no lift.
whatwheels Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 hey thanks all....really appreciate the speedy reply. Think I will put some BFG A/T's on our Comanche, I think It will really look great !! 1986:
Garvin Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 This is a pic of my '86 long bed when I first got it. Sorry it's not the best of angles but it's the only picture I have before I lifted her (click on the picture for a larger image). That front tire is actually an A/T while the rear is an M/T.
mnkyboy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Just keep in mind that is with your stock wheels, most aftermarket wheels are gonna have a different offset so your gonna start having rubbing issues.
-SHANE- Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 i have 31 - 10.5 - 15 bfg but it rubs when i turn all the way
Pete M Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 adding a washer behind the steering stops can help with the rub. if the rub is on the control arms, WJ arms can be swapped in to gain clearance.
whatwheels Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 hey thanks you all......... Looks great with no rub a dub. Robbed a bit of power, but that is ok,,,,I just coast around town on weekends anyway !!
JeepcoMJ Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 rubs at full turn/lock, plus at flex. even does so at 3" lift, depending on rim back spacing. I like the look of an MJ on 31" tires. went back to that on my lifted truck, with 4" lift. still looks good then, IMHO
Rymanrph Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Your truck is so clean! I really dig the matching wheels.
STERLING STINGER Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 imho 31s are way too big and make your....well my truck..... run like poop. here's 30x9.5xr15s i just got and i love them
